But today/tomorrow is only the 31st, it isn't out until Nov. 1st which would mean that you have a whole day yet to wait.

The deleted scenes aren`t that big a deal.

Grievous killing the Jedi is a lot less spectacular than I thought it would be.

A lot of what is in them has been rewriiten into different parts of the film.

The film itself is still amazing, though.

I want to watch it over and over, which didn`t really happen with Eps 1 + 2.

Seems for me the deleted scenes are usually a disapointent.

I still have to wait for tommorrow...this will beat the shitty version I downloaded...can not wait to hear it in 5.1.

An excellent movie.

A must see.

Roger Ebert gives it two fat thumbs up.

Surprisingly, I'm not...

I'm waiting for the inevitable 10 disc DVD box set, because trust me...there's a SHITLOAD of deleted stuff from the new trilogy (and the original trilogy) that will probably be included with the box set...

And I'd be the one to know... :)

Warham

I'm still buying it.

I can't wait until 2009 for the six movie box set.

Is it only six DVDs now?

I thought it was supposed to be ten...unless you mean the six movies plus the four DVDs of bonus material...

Warham

He's going to put one out in 3D in 2007. He hasn't decided which movie. I'm guessing the box set won't be out until after that.

One thing I did hear was that Yoda was going to be all digital in the Phantom Menace. They were taking that bad puppet out and making him the same as the other two.

Yeah, I'd heard about that.

Smart move...

I've heard that Lucasfilm has been tweaking the other two since the day they were released.

I've also heard that Yoda will never be altered in Empire or Return of the Jedi. He will always be a puppet.

I liked the puppet better.
At least as a puppet he didn't go pinging off the walls like he was being flipped around inside a pinball machine.

His movements better suited the character before he became CGI'd out the ass.
Blue Screens would take the fun out of making a movie if you ask me.
Pretending to interact with things that aren't really there would be tough.
By the way, the best actor to ever pull that off is Brendon Frasier in the 2 Mummy films.

I couldn`t wait for the 10 disc boxset.

When that comes out I`ll buy that as well.

How come George Lucas doesn`t get the rough ride Gene Simmons gets?

Cathedral

Well, I respect Lucas for being a pilot light for all the technological advances he has pioneered in movie making.
He has shared his developements with countless other movie makers with the goal to make better movies for the audiences while making tons of money for himself.

Gene Simmons' only focus is cashing in for himself, not much to respect since his best work was in the late 70's and early 80's.

And you would be hard pressed to even find a better story teller than Lucas. he's made mistakes (Jar Jar Binks), but he does what so many others fail to do, he learns from his mistakes, lol.

you're right on the no better story teller part...but Lucas is a horrible writer. Sith doesn't seem as wooden and detached as the previous two did.

AMEN AMEN AMOTHERFUCKINGMEN ! ! !

someone should make them stop these CGI-orgies...these movies are plastic and feel like plastic...that's why "batman begins" for example is much better, they used CGI to support some scenes that were made with REAL actors and in a REAL scenerie or with models...

If you think you`re too old then you are.

I don`t think I`m too old.

I might be getting a bit sick in the mind, but...

...the bit where Palpatine is drooling over Anakin after he has killed Mace Windu comes across to me as being a bit gay.

I`m sure Lucas never meant there to be any poofy undertones.

I'm buying it today. And unless they really offer something extra for the next releases, I'm happy with the current six-pack...

Hopefully, they will take the entire Phantom Menace out of the Phantom Menace.

You two are too hard on Episode I.

I give it 2½ stars. In fact, here are my ratings for the all the movies...

The Phantom Menace: 2½
Attack of the Clones: 2½
Revenge of the Sith: 4
A New Hope: 3½
The Empire Strikes Back: 4
Return of the Jedi: 3

The opening scrawl, the Darth/Obi/Qui-Gon duel (fantastic) and the closing credits.

Mezro...that Jake "the void" Lloyd kid sucked, the pod races sucked, Jar Jar Dancer sucked, the CGI pretty much sucked...fuck, did it suck...people were killing themselves in the bathroom after the film...

Let me try, let me try - on a scale of 1 to 4:

The Phantom Menace: ½
Attack of the Clones: 2½
Revenge of the Sith: 4+
A New Hope: 3½
The Empire Strikes Back: 4+
Return of the Jedi: 3

Won`t it be wierd for people twenty years from now, watching the films in order?

The dynamic of Star Wars has changed from being about Luke Skywalker and his struggle to defeat the Empire to being about Anakin Skywalker being the chosen one and his rise, fall and rise again.

There won`t be the surprise of finding out he`s Luke`s father, Leia finding out she`s his sister and everyone will spew when Luke and Leia kiss on the lips.

I think that now all movies have been released on DVD, some people will find a better appreciation for Episode I.

Sit down, watch the whole saga in order and then re-evaluate Episode I.

Mr Badguy

I really liked the start of Ep 1 where Obi Wan and Qui Gon kick some ass, shoving lightsabres through doors and other shit we hadn`t seen before.

After the first ten minutes it sure slows down fast.

I think the lack of a real badass villain hurts Eps 1 and 2.

Maul doesn`t have many lines and only really appears at the end in 1 and Count Dooku doesn`t have the look of Maul or Vader and doesn`t reveal himself to be a Sith until the end of 2.

Sidius/Palpatine is totally amazing in 3, you wonder if he could have been used better in the first two, given that we all knew who he was anyway.

It looks fantastic on DVD.

I've watched it twice since yesterday.
