This was years back, Yngwie and the band were on their way to Tokyo to promote Odyssey - so, 1988/89ish. Basically what happened with this tape is that a certain ex member of the band let it leak just a few years back in an effort to give him a black eye...I think it was Barry Dunaway, but I can't remember for sure if it was or not...but it just kinda became a thing of amusement, certainly didn't do any damage to him or cost him any fans.

After it got released, Yngwie and a few friends were sitting around listening to it and having a laugh about it when one of them mentioned that he oughta release an album and call it "Unleash the Fury", which got them all rolling on the floor - and Yngwie thought it was pretty funny itself, so he did exactly that. :)

It's only rock and roll, but I like it...

On the plus side, Unleash the Fury ended up being a fairly decent album. Not his best, but not his worst either, and there's a few pretty heavy moments to be found, too...
