The only decent signature model made was the Gibson Les Paul model. That's been around for a half-century and is still going strong.

You look at a lot of these guitars that keep popping up and just as soon dissapear and really appreciate the brilliance of guys like Leo Fender and Les Paul.

MAX
11-03-2005, 02:40 AM
Fuck, did fucking Kramer make EVERYONE a sig model back in the day? lmao

When looking for the Paul Dean one, I foound this Elliot Easton (The Cars) Model. LMAO!!!

That's how popular it was cos I NEVER heard of it and I used to window shop guitars like a motherfucker...

Bit harsh bro.

I love the necks on the Clapton Strats. Then again, it's only a remake of "Blackie" which was a Strat to begin with. lol.

The Paul Dean and EE Kramers are nice guitars, I've played them both. Maybe the look you don't like, and the players aren't that famous, but they're not shit guitars by any stretch. And in good shape, neither of them are cheap.

The neck on the Vandenberg isn't that bad to be honest. Tone wise it is not that great, IMO.

Elliot Easton is a fine guitarist...hell Steve Vai has even sung his praises.

OK I'll admit. The Vandenberg was the second guitar I ever purchased. Got it back in 88 or 89 I think and I still have it. Say what you want about the gay shape but the ebony neck rocks. It is still one of the thinnest, fastest neck I ever played

No shit. But then, it was that way about 70s guitars in the late 80s-early 90s.

Another 10 years, and all the fucking guitar collector snobs will start referring to 1980s guitars as "vintage".
Give me a fucking break.

I had maybe the first Peavey Vandenberg in Norway, and i sold it 10 years ago. That is something i regret, because it was a great guitar. I still have the signature letter that came with it and it had the serialnumber 04995.

You with the Fernandes Vandenberg, wanna sell it...?

Pretty fuckin' cool. I think my fave guitar of his was one he played on the "Invasion Of Your Privacy" tour. It's seen in the "You're In Love" video...again, I might be partial. I was at that show.

'ello Taeo!!! :)

I've missed you mang.

I just got my blue frankenstrat out of the shop t'day and am having it painted.

CHECK THIS OUT!!! (http://www.meanstreetguitars.com/Mean_Street_Franky_Thomas_G.jpg)

They're going to do the IDENTICAL job, including stripping my old paint, shipping and assembly for a bit over $300.

That pic 'tis how they do it too, with all of the scratches, scuffs and burns. The dude's got a template for it and has done a ton of them.

I'm so stoked bro!!!

I had a chance years ago to pick up a Franky-clone...I had just bought a guitar a week earlier.....

And...as fate would have it...I then repainted the guitar I bought 10 years later to look like the Bumble-Bee guitar off VHII:D

I play that thing EVERYWHERE:D

That guitar is gonna be STELLAR Bro!!!

light 'em up!

I don't know about the worst, but my vote for the best goes to this 2002 Ibanez JS 1000 J Satriani Model. This artist's model has it all; great tone, looks, feel, hardware, simplicity, elegance, utility.

When I was younger, I NEVER would've had it painted that way cos I'd wanna be unique and shit. So, when I originally built the axe I just kept it blue. But NOW!!! It will be awesome and a lot of people wont even recognize the paint job. lol

I'll post before and after pics fo sho.
