I call it a coke-fueled, intellectual Hollywood soap-opera for guys.
Even though it came out in 1998, I just saw it last night for the first time.
4 friends trying to figure out their own lives.
I should say, 4 cokeheads in the entertainment biz in L.A. trying to figure out their own lives.
Originally based on a play, this movie tripped me out, as when I was living in L.A., I knew and witnessed many people just like the characters in this film.
Very thought provoking, and to me a screwball, dark comedy, the actors perfectly portayed people in L.A. when they snurf huge amounts of blow, and start over-analyzing themselves and everyone around them, until they are babbling almost incoherently about stuff that is so far out there only they know what the fuck they are mumbling on about.
If you are into some heavy psychological profiles of coke-head entertainment-biz types, this is something that should be seen.
I would imagine that Big Train knows a shitload of people like this.
I highly recommend it.
