So I went out with my wife last night to get pizza for dinner, see. And, since we have 3 kids, we have the 5-5-5 deal from Dominos, which usually gets us full (in addition to some breadsticks).

They were a bit backed up, and we got a wait time of twenty minutes - so we opted to go across the street to Goodwill, hit the books and see if we could find anything worth reading.

MOTHER FUCKER, am I glad I did!!!

Check this out - MINT dustjacket, MINT binding, MINT pages - TRUE 1st Edition 1965 hardcover copy of Frank Herbert's "DUNE"!!!!!! Like it's never even beeen fucking OPENED to be read!!!!!!!!!

FUCKING BANK!!!!!!!!!!

All for $1.99!!!!!!!!

Look at this!!!

I should sell this on eBay, like, right fucking now. In addition to my $2,000,000.00 I'm getting from that dude in Africa, I'm going to be sitting rather pretty in the near future... :)

Taking it out for appraisal at a rare book collectors this morning.

LMMFAO, I hope so. i wouldn't want to see you get taken to the cleaners as so many do in scams.

I didn't really understand what a problem scamming really was until i went to that scam baiters website, lol.

Now there is a host of people i wouldn't have trouble executing on the spot.

Damn dude that is fucking awesome.

William Shatner had a deal going on his website that he might still be doing.....he would sign anything you sent him at his office in Cali....all you had to do was include a check for $150 made out to his favorite charity.

I have the a rare variant of the VERY FIRST Star Trek Comic book ever printed.

Gold Key Volume 1, #1

http://curtdanhauser.com/Comic1_Big.jpg

I paid 12 fucking cents for it in 1967 when I was 7 years old. I saw the very first episode when it was broadcast in September 1966, and became an instant fan.

I have been considering sending it to him to have him sign the back:

Argh...went to his website and could find no mention of it...perhaps he does not do that any more...

It is already worth some decent bucks...his signature would really boost it's value, though I am not really interested in selling it...

LMFAO!!!!!
:D

As it is, the ST #1 I have is worth at least 100-200 bucks.

It is not in mint condition (I have seen some on eBay with a buy now price of $975), but is not in bad shape.

I have not sold it because it kind of has sentimental value.

Captain Kirk was my childhood hero (as was Dirty Harry) because he did not always obey the rules, but he kicked so much fucking ass that his bending or breaking of rules was usually overlooked.
