But anything that is considered standard or free, like local channels, should have standards aimed at protecting what kids are exposed to and should be pretty much family oriented programming.

I agree that if people want explicit material the government shouldn't have any right to keep them from it, but there should be viable options for people on both sides of the issue to choose from.

Commercials are even out of line in a lot of cases, and i think that there are areas that should be cleaned up a bit.

Porn is an industry much like drugs, you can try to squash it, but the effort will do little more than waste money.
