It's not French for sure. But intonations are somehow close.

The presenter is in a real shitty mess... I guess he started laughing because of the bearded guy's very surprisingly high-pitched voice...
Then the man in the audience, who obviously had a tracheotomy.
What makes it even more hilarious is the fact that the audience remains very serious, some of them looking shocked at his laughter.

It's all the more odd that he must have prepared the programme, he also must already have talked to the guests before, so he couldn't have been surprised with their voices... He even looks like a kid, lost in the middle of these serious people. He surely wasn't made for presenting serious programmes - maybe he was sacked soon after?

I think I'm going to watch it again for a harder laugh... :)

i never understood why the audience did not laugh! i would be on the floor. is there any cunning lingusits at the dlrarmy who know icelandic and want to do a little translation?

I strictly know nothing about Icelandic, but it seems that it was a programme about voice troubles... The presenter bursts out laughing just when the guy with the high-pitched voice (:D I'm still laughing like hell... :D) starts speaking.
The audience were probably concerned with that topic (they visibly were no studio stuffing)...

Golden AWe must know (at least a little) Icelandic IMO...

dude you are Sherlock Holmes! You "deduced" all that from laughing your ass off? :D It is an extremely rough sounding language... I actually mistook it for belonging near Russian in the Baltic slavic family. I am going to scan in a very good language chart in a little while if i get a chance.
