I grow my own pot. When I'm growing for AIDS patients I get paid ($80 an ounce) but right now it's just my hobby. Should have someone new to grow for in a couple of months (hopefully 2 new people as I'm exceeding my single license limit right now).

Also, avid reader. Military fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, true-crime, some horror are my favs.

When I was a serious drinker I brewed beer. Loved doing it but just doesn't seem worthwhile now for the occasional beer I drink.

DLR and VH have become a hobby now. Getting as much live audio and video is time consuming enough to be a hobby.

Well, skiing will be the main one now that it's the season. Been doing it since I was four so yeah, I'm totally addicted to that every winter.

I dunno if my daily exercizing counts as a "hobby" per say but I also swim a mile four times a week and go to the gym for light reps to stay toned.

I also dig playing basketball and football with anyone who's up for it.

I love to cook, work in the yard during the nicer months, collect tools, fondle my maximus, lube my lawnmower, relax in flannies with beeyas or merlot and that's about it.

I'm a pretty boring guy actually, kinda like a Obi-WAN. lol

Indicas or mixes, we didn't know. Flowered in just under 8 weeks so the strain was mostly indica. Sativas are generally outdoor plants as indoor growers prefer both the shortness of the plant and the flowering cycle found in the indica strains (6-8 weeks of flowering for indica; 10-16 weeks for sativa). Yield also seems higher with Indicas, for the size.

These particular plants grew fast right from the start. Just under 3 weeks to flower from seed, although we kept a few aside for mothers. Eventually, 2 mothers produced over 300 cuttings in a span of 3 months. At the end we had harvested 4-5 pounds of dried product growing under 2 1000 Watt HPS lights.

I start up again in January but this time I'll get a known indica strain from a local seed supplier. We found last year's seeds in the glovebox of my friend's Corvette and had no idea what they were. It was good for a laugh.

I used to be a junkie. Did it all. Even grew that crap too. Then one day i set my life straight. Got married and had kids.

Thing is growing that shit and having kids around is wrong.

Why?

Well my idiot brother in law never could get out of that lifestyle.

One day the cops came to his place with a warrant. Seized all his fucking plants. Seized the house, car, boat, truck etc.

Arrested him and my sister and took the kids away.

I'm no dimwit. I don't have those things to lose and 90% of the time I'm growing marijuana for AIDS patients with a LEGAL permit to grow - so it's not an issue. A very good friend of mine happens to be an Infectious Disease Physician in Ottawa and many of his AIDS patients receive permits to grow marijuana. When their disease advances and they can no longer manage growing their own he passes the permits on to me. I have to be registered to do this (and have to re-register for every new permit). The police know who I am and have actually been in my house to see the grow operation (and at the time to ensure I was only growing 50 plants - 2 permits). The first year I did this I also knew they were watching me fairly closely. You see, I'm not a dealer. I don't sell pot to kids, or even adults. I donate my pot to medical science and in return I get to smoke all the pot want, and some of my friends share in this benefit. Occasionally, for special purposes - mostly when a patient dies, I even get paid by Health Canada for my weed. They pay $80 an ounce, which isn't great, but what the hell.

Do I occasionally go beyond the boundaries of the permits? Yes. But I'm no trailer park junkie dealing to kids at the playground. I'm a successful IT Proofessional making a very good living and enjoying the benefits afforded me by meeting my doctor friend 6 years ago. I've also met every AIDS patient I've grown for and even met another medical marijuana grower who is producing his own medicine for treatment of his Muscular Dystrophy (we actually help each other out when one or the other is out of town - he's also given me some great recipes for pot enfused foods). I've seen the benefits of what I do so, what started as a selfish way to grow my own pot and save some money and stop funding gangsters and possibly terrorists, has actually transformed me into a true advocate for medical marijuana use.

I'm glad you stopped being a junkie. I'm pleased you're not endangering your kids anymore. Some people have a hard time with drugs and dependancy and leading a normal life. Others don't (especially if it's limited to pot, IMO)

Some people have a hard time keeping their moral judgements to themselves. Unfortunately, you're one of these people and as such I must decide not to like you very much.

What about this...

My grand-mother had a huge house with acres of land. She had a passion for her garden and her favorite thing was to see her flowers grow.

At 63, the doctors told her she had to take strong blood pressure medication if she didn't want to die, but those pills where going to make her yard work impossible.
So she told everyone to accept the fact that she didn't want to be medicated to keep up with her activities...

2 years later, she died of a heart attack... her blood pressure to the roof!
I was mad for a while... "how could the weed and the berries be more important than to be with us,
for just a little longer"?

Now I understand that without that earth in her hands... she would have been "dead" anyway...

The one thing that I do remember loving about a waterbed was that you could heat up the water, so the bed could be very comfortable.

At 63, the doctors told her she had to take strong blood pressure medication if she didn't want to die, but those pills where going to make her yard work impossible.
So she told everyone to accept the fact that she didn't want to be medicated to keep up with her activities...

2 years later, she died of a heart attack... her blood pressure to the roof!
I was mad for a while... "how could the weed and the berries be more important than to be with us,
for just a little longer"?

Now I understand that without that earth in her hands... she would have been "dead" anyway...

I'm of mixed opinions when it comes to medicine and the human spirit. Sometimes I view doctors as people doing a lot of guess work while wearing a white coat.

That's too bad. It's weird cos it seems that doing said yardwork would be good for her heart? I mean, just simple gardening and caring for flowers is not exactly exerting one's self? Was she like into chopping wood or what? :confused:

It was a cheap one (so lots of endless waves) and it did, have peach colored satin sheets!
And also... fully mirrored (on the ceiling too).

We looked at it and decided the price was right...

The whole thing was so funny!

No real big work, my grand-father was doing all the heavy stuff anyway.

The heart attack was a consequence of that pressure not being controlled (apparently).

Also, when it gets really hot and humid here, in summer time, elderlies are advised to "keep cool"...

Now I see my Mom. and she is just the same...

No in fact, we didn't buy that bed... it was just a room we stayed in, one night...

We ended up buying one, when living in L-A and it is square.

Most of the songs I write are about fun. Six years ago I wrote one in French that I am particularly proud of, which is not funny at all (except for the puns). It's very dark, with a somehow revolutionary drive in it. It's poetry, really (alexandrins rhythmed 3/3, 3/3 in the verses and 4/4/4 in the chorus), the song, that we recorded with my band back then, is very heavy (I found the main riff)... I worked on the text for weeks, modifying words here and there, changing entire verses, etc, until we put it on tape, which was a final relief: I could give it up then, at last. :)
I've been working on a play for three years too, something hilarious (I mean it could be if it's played the way I see, someday). The story and the main character are basically inspired with elements of my own life, but it takes a delirious direction. It's farce. Apart from the text itself, there are a few innovations in the organization of the stage and the props too.
Sooner or later I will have to finish it and send the script to professionals. I would love it if (why not dream a little - I mean a lot :D) Martin Lamotte or Josiane Balasko chose to stage it. :eek: Then I really have to set to it. :D
What if, one day, it were staged in Quebec? :D
