So it's snowing and I can't go run outside and play in it because I have acute bronchitis, acute tonsillitis, and the lovely common cold making things worse. :(

I wish my tonsils weren't hugging each other. It feels weird with them touching.

I really want to go run in the snow. Not fair. :(

I did make an artist rendering though. This is what I do when waiting for hte meds to kick in. So sad.

Ooof! I've had acute bronchitis from running in the wet and cold, about this time of year I think...

I got antibiotics for it, felt better after a few days, so this rocket-science boy stopped taking them with like seven or eight days left in the cycle....

It came back like a mother fucker!!:confused:

I kept saying to myself, in my usual sickness-related macho denial, "oh it's just a cowwwwld', stop being such a wuss," I even started working out again. BIG MISTAKES!! I was so sick and weak I was coughing up blood and bed-ridden and, I had to have a friend drive me to the hospital. I thought I had TB before it was all over. The next time, I took ALL of my antibiotics.:)

Do you feel better yet?:D

Day 4 of the antibiotics and my left tonsil has gone down but my right tonsil has tripled in size! It now dominates my throat. WTF!?

And the random acts of bulemia with nothing but stomach acid and whatever this is that I'm hacking up is not fun.

And I have two classes tonight. I wont get home until after 11pm.

It smells!

I foresee another doc visit in my future.

Just rest, don't talk unless you really, REALLY have to and let the pills do their thing. (emphasis on #1 & #3)

About the eating: Grin & Bare It. Try to avoid hot-as-molten-lava stuff, OK? Those are just gonna make your throat hurt more.

I'm not a doctor - not even a witch-doctor - but here's a couple of things I always do when I'm starting to get sick. Try them at your own risk:

1. Hot bath - as hot as I can take it, without getting cooked.

2. Eat like a bull - everything, from fruit to meat to fish to chocolate to vegetables.

3. Whisky - The ultimate remedy. Lots and lots of it.

4. Wake up the next day feeling like a million bucks.

I'm not a doctor, but I read a lot. I would recommend high doses of vitamin c to boost the immune system. Also, if you aren't afraid of the smell, garlic is great for the immune system. The benefits outweigh the smell anyway.

If it's not getting better, you might have a strain that is highly resistant to antibiotics. But, I wouldn't stop taking them just in case. It might just take a long time for the drugs to have a decent effect. As long as your immune system is at fighting strength, it will take care of whatever you have eventually.

I googled tonsillitis and it says that it can take several weeks for the tonsils to return to normal, if you didn't know that already.

garlic is my middle name! My family lives on garlic. Everyone else thinks we're crazy.

I was suppose to go get my hair all fixed up, but today I've been throwing up stomach bile. Nothing I do stops it. I dont' eat, it comes up; I sip water like I'm on rations, water comes right back up. I drink the flat Cola like the good ol' doc told me too, it comes up. I can't win.

Apparently I'm having a really bad reaction to the Biaxin I was taking for the bronchitis/tonsilitis. I got new meds for that and another prescrip for the nausea.

Trying to sleep tonight is going to be a chore.

And I've been trying to get in touch with my prof like crazy. I have class tomorrow and my project's due. She's really nice, though, so I'm hoping that means I can give it to her on ehr next day on campus.

Now I remember my younger brother had serious tonsillitis when he was 20 or so. Very similar symptoms. He was cured with strong antibiotics, together with anti-inflammatory medicine, to kill the pain. His state was very similar, but he got out of it and even kept his tonsils... We are the only ones in the family who kept them, though they are pretty big.
I'm no doctor either, but I guess that it will take surgery, at worst. :cool:

Ally has rebounded from the worst day ever. I'm on amoxicillian(sp?) and some other stuff to stop the nausea. Stomach still hurts a lil though. I even ventured out and ate some toast! I wanted mashed potatoes, but I'm told that's on for tomorrow's menu.

Everyone I know keeps telling me to have my tonsils taken out but there's some reason the good doc doesn't want to.

And I still haven't heard from the prof. :( That's really stressing me out.
