I can't disagree more. The idea that soldiers are fighting for America's "freedom" is absurd and more Bush-ist spin. The last time any soldier fought for American sovreignity vs. a serious foreign threat was against England when they fought for America's independence as a nation.

No one has ever seriously threatened America's independence since then and every war we've been involved in has been as a policing process. There's not one living person that can seriously make the claim to having fought for America's freedom.
