Supposedly, it's loosely based on a CIA agent's story. He was "put on trial" by the CIA (sort of) for plotting to kill SADDAM HUSSEIN in 1995. He was also extremely disgruntled and disgusted by the Wests' oil policies in the Middle East...

"Syriana" is actually a pseudo-country in the middle east used by war gamers and oil companies as an example of the optimum nation which to export oil from...

I suggest that everyone here go see this movie, it was easily the best movie of the year I think, and very well done.

It looks really interesting, but people I know are telling me not to bother, which surprised me seeing who the actors are.

Time will tell when it comes out on cable.

Anybody who takes Wayne L. seriously as an actor & foot fetishist is just as CRAZY as he is.

The film loosely uses some inout from "'See No Evil (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/140004684X/ref=ase_satisfaction1-20/002-7670745-5847235?n=283155&tagActionCode=satisfaction1-20),' the 2002 memoir by former CIA operative Robert Baer" (Travers)

This movie is one of the best movies of the year along with Capote, Good Night and Good Luck, and Walk the Line.

I don't know, but Burt & Ernie missed it. They saw Bareback Mountain instead.
