View Full Version : Queensryche`s "DR X" metal legend is revealed...

There have been rumours circulating that the character of Dr X on "Operation:Mindcrime II" would be played by a "very respected" and legendary metal vocalist.

Many had preicted that it would be Rob Halford, probably due to the fact that Queensryche recently supported Judas Priest and Queensryche vocalist Geoff Tate`s 2000 touted collaberation with Halford and Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson in a venture that would be titled "The three tremours".

That never came to fruition, thank god because that is a horrible group name, although the trio had hoped it would sometime in the future.

So it isn`t Halford.

Nor is it Bruce Dickinson.

The man chosen is as much a metal behemoth as either of those two.

So who is it?

Wait for it...

It is none other than Ronnie James Dio!

Yes, Dio will take the role and indeed has already recorded his parts, thus wrapping up the recording of the band`s hotly anticipated sequel.

Roll on March 14.

I think this could be better than Halford.

Halford and Tate have similar, but not identical, voices.

Dio`s is far different and will provide a good counterpoint to Tate, although you won`t be able to listen to it without thinking of RJD rather than Dr X.

So after all I will have a reason to buy this album, just because Dio will make it good.

For a price I'd do anything
Except pull the trigger
For that I need a pretty good cause
Then I heard of Dr. X
A little bald man with elf ears
Just watch the television
You'll see he looks like Carla from Cheers

Perhaps HE did not want to call it OC:II, but I am certain the record label had other plans.

No doubt...this is a Sanctuary release, right?

They need all the cash they can get at this point...
