John Lennon
Happy Christmas (War Is Over)

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young

{Refrain}
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas [ War is over]
For weak and for strong [If you want it]
For rich and the poor ones [War is over]
The road is so long [Now]
And so happy Christmas [ War is over]
For black and for white [ If you want it]
For yellow and red ones War is over
Let's stop all the fight [ Now]

{Refrain}

And so this is Christmas [War is over]
And what have we done [If you want it]
Another year over [ War is over[
And a new one just begun [Now]
And so happy Christmas [ War is over]
I hope you have fun [If you want it]
The near and the dear one [War is over]
The old and the young [Now]

{Refrain}

War is over if you want it
War is over now

Who cares?

Lennon's opinion wasn't any more valid than anybody else's.

Indeed....

He'd be giving that spineless poodle Blair no quarter either, that's for sure.

Saddam should have listened to Lennon. He could have saved himself alot of aggravation.

And it's not any less valid either.....

Had I quoted BW you'd be creaming all over your screen, ham.

The Apostle John means alot to many of us. What's wrong with that?

No, I don't take Brian's opinion as more valid either.

I think people take John as some kind of saint. He wasn't anything of the sort. Great musician, but could be a lousy person like anybody else (see Julian Lennon).

Hmm.

They should have sent Yoko over to perform her screeching "art."

That would end the war and start another one (against her)

Yoko with a microphone is still one of the great mysteries of our times.

"Who cares? Lennon's opinion wasn't any more valid than anybody else's." Warham, Dec. 19, 2005

A bit of a contradiction there.

Has Brian Wilson made any public statements against the Chimp and /or the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq?

Maybe that would wake up Warham?

What A Grate Song, Of course Lennon deserves Every recognition he gets, He essentially made Rock and Roll what it is today. He was like Bono in the 60's and 70's. He would be awesome right now, The Anti-War movement would b extremely strong with John leading the way.

Brian wore a Dukakis shirt in '88, but I've never held that against him.
