Bon Jovi Gets Behind Fictional Presidential Candidate

Jon Bon Jovi will play himself on a upcoming episode of The West Wing.

Jon Bon Jovi is set to get behind a fictional political leader after signing up for a guest spot on The West Wing.

The Bon Jovi rocker will play himself on the upcoming episode and throw his support behind Jimmy Smit' character, Senator Matt Santos.

It isn't Bon Jovi's first brush with politics - he supported presidential hopeful John Kerry during the 2004 election.

He's actually a good actor, even though all his movies were bombs.

Sounds like the role will be a bit of a stretch for him.

My favorite show since The Rockford Files has so Jumped The Shark.

Seasons 1-4 are some of the best TV since.......well, radio.

Aaron Sorkin [writer/producer/creator] left

Rob Lowe left.

Now John Spencer has passed.

Really, the only reason to even tune in anymore is to drool over Janel Maloney.

I hope they kill the series at the end of this season

Yeah, he's good with little or no training. He's gotten great reviews for his acting. What have you seen? I've seen almost everything. Lots of movies and TV appearances.

Good with little or no training, is like complimenting a girl on bad head. LMMFAO:D

Reviews like that are usually bought and paid for by the studios.

The pizza/chick flick Romeo something....he sucked.

The German Submarine flick....he sucked.

Just admit it. It's not his acting, you just wouldn't mind him parking his boots under your bed for the weekend.

We understand

Let me put it this way, JBJ's acting skills make me want to nominate Keanu Reeves for an Oscar :monekyr:

Two movies that you can't even name. That's what I thought. ;) He's done like 10 or 12 at least.

His roles have sucked. The movies have sucked. I still think he did a good job in a lot of them.

Yeah, he's still hot. He's still selling out concerts. Don't want to fuck him though. ;)

Woe is me, I have yet to commit John Bon Jovi's filmography to memory yet. :D

So the roles sucked, the movies sucked, yet you sat through all of them for his thespian skills.

Ow, that laugh actually hurt. :D

Playing himself.

Wonder what his motivation will be?

Will he have a bigger trailer than Jimmy Smits?

I must tune into Entertainment Tonight. :D

I didn't seek them out just for him. I just watch a lot of movies. Couldn't make it through the Vampire one. That was just horrid.

Expert, Moi?

I said that?

I know I'm stoned, but I don't recall touting my movie expertise ;)

Does one need to be an "expert" to judge JON Bon Jovi's acting skills?

This obviously is a sore subject for you, and I apologize for stepping on the acting skills of JBJ ;)

I heard he was up for the remake of Casablanca

Cross your fingers :D

Honestly, I couldn't care less. Actors don't impress me. I personally think they should fuck the Oscars and telecast the Pulitzers and the Nobel Prize ceremonies. Those are the type of people our kids should be looking up to instead of fucked-up actors and drugged-up athletes.

Also, if anyone else had rolled their eyes at me, I wouldn't have even responded. Or if you had said "from what I've seen, I don't think he's any good;" I would have respected your opinion and left it alone. But you have a habit of saying things like you are right and the other person is wrong, and that's what ruffled me. ;)

But I'm already over it, and I accept your apology :D and now I'm going to bed; because I'm not retired, and I have to work in the morning. ;)

From "Jon Bon Jovi is a great actor" to carpet bombing the Oscars and telecasting the Pulitzers and Stockholm all in one thread?

Now that's a swing....;)

By the way, some of the literary greats, both Pulitzer winning and not have been some of the most fucked up, drugged out wackos in history.

They could put Robert Downey Jr. to shame

Too bad JBJ isn't up for a Pulizter;)

[ although I think he did do Pia Zadora once]

Really?

You didnt say those things either.

Hmmm.

You stated your opinion, I countered with a different opinion [ hence a "thread"]

My whole purpose, and initial post was to bemoan the fall of my once favorite show, The West Wing.

But I stand by my opinion, he's a terrible actor....."from what I've seen"

:D

His best roles?

when his head was cut in half in the sub flick...

and...

when he crawled out of the hole in Young Guns 2...and got shot a second later...and fell back in the hole...

I saw him in some chick flick...and it was terrible...he was terrible...

and I've seen him in a few other movies...that thank god...I could change the channel on...

bottom line?

he's in shitty movies for a reason...

The West Wing finally cancelled...

I watch the show...and am one of the few that still like it now...as much as I did then...

but it's time...

I can't imagine this show with another president at the helm...although having a right winger in there would be interesting...

Hit TV show The West Wing will be axed when its seventh season draws to a close in May.

NBC is disappointed with the program's recent ratings despite critical acclaim for the current series focusing on the election to find President Josiah Bartlett's replacement.

The final episode will be broadcast on 14 May, preceded by a one-hour retrospective. The decision to pull the show was made before the death of actor John Spencer, who played chief of staff LeoMcGarry, on December 16 last year.

The West Wing joins hit Fox shows Malcolm In The Middle and That 70's Show in concluding in May.
