I know this sort of a thread has been done before but name (in no particular order) your "perfect" ten Guitars/basses if you could have whatever the fuck you wanted. The inclusion of all or any of your currently owned geetars 'tis welcome as well.

Here's a starter from me...

1) 1957 Surf Green Strat Reissue, with a stripped neck so I can dirty the fuck out of it. I dunno as to why I've yet to buy me one? It's been something I've wanted for many, many yeeyas...

http://www.intersalg.no/stores/intersalg/images/prodimages/large/311172-141313.jpg

2) 1972 Fender Telecaster Thinline. Natural finish, maple neck. I dunno why I dig this axe so much? I've never really been into Tele's but I played one about fifteen yeeyas ago and absoltely loved the sound. We played some old Rolling Stones tunes and this rig sounded so good and was extremely comfortable.

3) A Gold Top Les Paul. They're not my favorites to play but I love the sound I've gotten out of them and if I get to have whatever I want anyway, this definitely makes my list. If I had it though, I'd remove the small pickguard cos my hands are big and with the way I rest my wrist while playing, I muff the strings. I also like the sound on them a bit better (don't ask me why?) when the pickup covers are removed on LP's. Seriously, these are stellar axes but I don't play enough (unless I win the lottery) to justify buying one. Their necks have always seemed a bit too "skinny" for me. Regardless, I'd love to own one in my dream collection.

4) A Kramer (or in my case, a replica) "5150" beater like EVH's. This one I can fortunately say I'll soon own cos I'm buyin' one this week. I'll let y'all know how it turns out and I'll post pics. 'Tis just a toy for dis old boy. lol Regardless, I'm stoked to get it.

The Real McCoy:

The Replica that I'm getting:

http://www.meanstreetguitars.com/Mean5150relic.gif

Pretty cool huh?

5) As long as I'm on an EVH kick, I always wanted an Ernie Ball Music Man as well. Couldn't afford one back in the day but I'd love to have a black one in my "dream" collection.

Dunno if this 'tis "black?" But hopefully y'all get said idea?

There's my first five. For the next five, I'll post pics of my two axes that I've managed to keep over the yeeyas cos I love them so much. Plus, you poor bastids will have to read my testimoials about them. lol

Hopefully this will be a cool thread? It'll be great seein' what all of you either own or would like to have?

Late.

2.-5. Probably a wide assortment of Auerswalds.

6. ESP Kamikaze with razorback headstock.

7. First line of production Gibson Firebird VII.

8. 9. and 10. I´ll leave open for the dozens I´ve probably not thought about but would still love to have!

Here's another I'd like to have. Obviously y'all can tell that I love Strats. lol

6) A Candy Apple Green Eric Clapton Signature Model Strat. I remember tryin' out one when they first came out and really liking the "V" shape of the neck. I know it's specs are exactly that of "Blackie" which E.C. had to retire cos it was literally unplayable anymore. Anyway, since Claption had played "Blackie" for so many yeeyas, the neck was extremely worn. Great feel and I really liked the tone of thos Lace Sensor pickups that the old models used to have. I dunno if they still even make those pickups anymore or whether they were worth a damn? Regardless, they sure did have a nice, clean and crisp Strat sound. Especially in that out of phase position with the middle and bridge pickups.

Heeyas a pic of "Blackie"

Heeyas a pic of the exact model I'd love to own.

Hmmm...

I pretty much have what I want...

Except for a Gibson Tony Iommi SG and a Fender Custom Shop Strat...

I consider my own works similar to a Custom Shop model, but I still dream about one...

I'm waiting to bid on an Epiphone Iommi SG, we'll see, but I want the Gibson...

Replace the Dean Razorback with a Peavey V-type (basically a 2000 Vandenberg)

BrownSound1
03-05-2006, 12:58 AM
These are the real things...not a reissue. :D

'57 Les Paul Standard
'58 Les Paul Standard
'59 Les Paul Standard
'61 Les Paul Standard (Which became the SG)
Gibson EDS 1275
Any 50's Strat
Any 50's Tele
A Gretch Nashville
EVH's Destroyer
Taylor 914-CE...awesome acoustic
Gibson ES-335

Now, I know I didn't include any Fenders, other than the 50's Strat and Tele, but that doesn't mean I don't love 'em. All it means is I already got most of what I want in the way of Fenders. Couple of Strats, a Tele and an Esquire, an American Vintage P-Bass as well as a real '67 Jazz bass.

I've owned a couple of Les Pauls, but sold them over the years...needed the cash and quit playing in bands. I don't like Jacksons, or PRS, or any of those type of guitars. I'll stick with my Kramers for any "modern" type of things...and those are 20 years old. :D
