I remember talking to a friend of mine at a club the week of the 2nd BENGALS/STEELERS game. He was so happy about the Bengals win that he was practically glowing. Things were going great in Bengal Land. The Bengals had achieved their first winning season in about 15 years, Carson Palmer looked to be the best QB in the league, Rudy Johnson was well on his way to a 1,450 yard rushing season, Chad Johnson was the most dangerous receiver in the league, their defence was leading in interceptions/take aways, and they had just beaten the Steelers to guarantee a play-off birth.

Oh how quickly things can change.

In their first play-off game in 15 years, they lost their star QB to a knee injury, which is projected to keep him sidelined until mid-november '06. During half-time of the same game a bitter Chad Johnson threw punches at both the receivers coach and head coach. They then lost the game along with their superbowl dreams to Pittsburgh. After the game, their back-up QB, John Kitna, expressed his desire to leave the team for a starting position elsewhere. And now, their other rising star receiver, Chris Henry (who was arrested in december for driving without a licence while intoxicated and possessing 2 bags of marijuana, was nearly shot by police outside a florida nightclub. He was pointing a stolen gun into a crowd threatening a group of men when police ordered him to drop the weapon. He thew it into his waiting limo and proceeded to resist arrest. The funny thing is that the dumb-ass was wearing his jersey. Maybe he'll soon be trading his Bengal stripes for prison stripes.
