I find this fascinating.
The rarest of gems an non cut and paste in the Front Line forum.
If you don't believe my figures look them up.
In the three months after 9-11 the domestic air travel in the US fell significantly. In the same period there was a corrosponding increase in road deaths of 8%.
People were too scared to fly so drove.
There were an additional 353 road deaths compared to the same period the preceeding year.
266 people died in the planes on September 11th!
More people died trying avoid the threat than from the original incident!
If you extrapolate these figures to the present day(they are not yet available) then since 9-11 that's about 3530 people that have died because of fear, more than the total including the Twin Towers than died in the attacks in the first place.
That's ignoring heart attacks, suicides, stress etc etc...
Makes you think huh?
