Once upon a time, it used to be a beautiful day in the neighborhood...that no longer applies to the world of 2006.

Good morning, boys and girls. Can you say:

Polydimethylsiloxane?

Polydimethylsiloxane is a substance that is manufactured by Dow Chemical and is primarily used in food-manufacturing factories as a de-foaming agent for commercial boilers.

Polydimethylsiloxane is not approved for use as a food additive, yet, Pizza Hut is using this silicone-based chemical as a stabilizer for cheese on its patented pizza products. Some of those pizzas go directly to your child's schools and are served at lunchtime.

In order to preserve their frozen pizzas, Pizza Hut claims that their silicon emulsifier is a necessary preservative and emulsifier.

Although the package does not list its own secret formula, it does list "other additives" under the guise of this patent:

Patent # 4894245

A review of the United States Patent Office website confirms this story that was first reported on page 5 of the February, 2006 issue of Pete Hardin's "Milkweed." The actual patent:

The following is included in the online patent:

"A silicone emulsifier (Dow Corning FG-10) is mixed with water to form a 0.05% emulsifier solution. This solution is sprayed on the frozen cheese granules at a rate of 1.75 parts of solution per 100 parts by weight of cheese."

Our children are eating silicon in school cafeterias. Silicon is not an approved substance for human consumption. Neither is Polydimethylsiloxane, or formaldehyde which results as a byproduct when frozen silicone-sprayed pizza is subjected to heat. Polydimethylsiloxane breaks down into formaldehyde when subjected to heat in excess of 150 degrees centigrade. See:

As guardians for all children, should we continue allowing school kids to naively ingest silicone and formaldehyde?

How dangerous is formaldehyde? The National Cancer Institute reports:

Regardless, eaven if I was a carnivore, I could never eat there... I just can't handle the smell!

I do not know if this is a nation wide chain but

we have this pizza place in KC called Pappa Murphy's

and they roll out the dough in front of you put on how much sauce you want(double sauce in thome world) put on the pizza stuff what -YOU- want.
wpap it in plastic wrap and You take it home and cook it.It's the
Best pizza i have ever had.

My biggest problem w/ delivery pizza is the crust is always so under cooked, doughy crap .Cooking it myself solves the problem I love this
pizza idea and wish i had tought of it.

Mandarin chicken is my fav. its taste makes me forget the Big Bacon Classic flavor for a moment......until I saw the people around me with that delicious piece of junk food

I only go to the places in my 'hood. Benny's on Myrtle Ave is sinfully deliicous and costs less than what the other pizzarias in this city charge. The guy is really sweet, too. I would deffy say that is my favorite place. The other 7 places along the avenue are okay.

Has anyone tried one of those Boboli things? It's like the pizza crust in a bag. Go with the thin-crust version. You can glue it together with cream cheese and bake it with toothpics to contain the lava inside. Just fucking stuff whatever in it (if you're into that)....get creative. Think BBQ sauce and smoked country ribs.

Oh yeah, fuck the pizza quick sauce....bust out some tomato sauce with garlic and rosemary....don't forget the sugar!

Why is pizza bad ? Ok i get it it has some bad stuff in it but tap water has stuff in it and what about fruits i think we still spray bug killer on them right ? pizza is cheap to get and it makes the kids happy and anyone knows if the kids are not happy your wife blames you !
