Q + PR are playing in Atlanta tonight.

I had a damn good seat, with face value of 108 bucks.

I set out this morning in my SUV, and did not even make it out of town.

Doing 70 on the freeway...and the engine just DIES......just goes down the fucking drain.

I safely maneuver over to the far right shoulder and look under the hood to see if there is anything obviously wrong with it.....I see nothing on a visual inspection.

I walk 2 miles to a Krogers, and call AAA. Tow Truck literally arrives within 60 seconds. Dude musta been in the very shopping center I was at.

We go pick the vehicle up, take it over to my mechaninc's shop, which is conveniently located within 3 miles.

Timing belt broke.

V-6....it is an interference engine from what I am told.

So after 3 bills for parts & labor, tomorrow we will start it up and see if there was any damnage to the engine other than that.

So, I will travel into the future using astral remote projecto-viewing through my refractable space/time psychic continuum thang, and say that Queen + Paul Rodgers rocked the house in Atlanta, and everyone had a great time.

http://pub.tv2.no/multimedia/TV2/archive/00185/queen_paul_rodgers__185990g.jpg

Everyone except me, that is.

:( :( :( :(

As this was the closest show on their U.S. Tour, and as I can reasonably assume they are never going to tour the U.S. again, it looks like I am never going to be able to see Queen (or any version thereof) in my lifetime.

GODDAMMIT FUCKING SHIT BITCH BASTARD MOTHERFUCKING ASSHOLE FUCKING FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!!

**ahem**

On the positive side, I will not be using tomorrow as a vacation day, so I will save that for another time in the near future....also the money I would have spent on gas and stuff going down there will go towards the repair bill, and it will be one less thing I have to worry about (my mechanic is one of those god-like creatures who rules when it comes to automotive machinery), and I still have today off from work with pay.

My dog is glad I get to spend the day at home with him, and I still have several warped kind of consolation prizes.

"Jay, tell us what our whacked out contestant has won today on "The Price Is Fucked!!!!"

http://www.gameshow-galaxy.net/images/DzlItem692.jpg

"Oooooookay Bob our contestant has won an unused ticket to see Queen & Paul Rodgers in Atlanta Georgia in about 5 hours! He only paid $108 for it, and he can frame it, use it to line his bird cage with it, or use it to provide gainful employment to one of his many trash receptacles around the house!!!

AND! IN ADDITION TO THAT!!......He can have a Queen + Paul Rodgers Live In Eurpoe DVD for the low, low price of only 20 bucks courtesy of one of our sponsors, Tower Records!!!!

***sigh**

Christ....

Fucking machines....

I have a second vehicle that I was going to go in, but the door latch post was broken and the door will not shut all the way.

So once again, I am at the mercy of the machine.

We are all at the mercy of the machine.

The Car.

The Computer.

The Phone.

Etc.

So conveneient....yet so fucked up....

So this is the story of this date in my life.

Machines - 1

Shit , and I thought I had a shitty day.

Why not sell the ticket to a friend and put the cash towards your repair bill ?

I'll hoist a beer for ya in Toronto on the 16th.

Hardrock69
03-07-2006, 05:39 PM
Well....

1. I have the ticket in my possession.

2. Concert is in Atlanta, at a venue that is 4 hours away.
I left the house at 10 AM today. Car broke down just after 11.
Got home about 2. Concert begins in about 3 hours from now.

Unless someone comes along with some money and a teleportation device, I don't think anyone is gonna legally be sitting in my chair....

SO I have been hanging around here getting high.

I dig doing that on vacation days.

I get paid to smoke weed!

WOOHOO!!

Think I will get the leaf blower out and actually accomplish something....

Funny you should say that....at this point in time, the machines were ruling my life and determining what activities I could or could not partake in.....in this case they told me I could not go see Queen + Paul Rodgers.

Then, they force me to pay out money to get fixed!

Fucking bastards!

They oughta go out and get a fucking job and earn their fucking keep so they can fix themselves!!

Instead they want me to do it for them! Same thing goes for my motherfukking computers!!!

Those fucking motherfukkers....

We MADE them.....

Shades Of Maximum Overdrive.

Oh well.

I hear the machines singing "Weee Are The Champions..."

Feel it when I turn the screw

Do to you, yeah

Who made who, who made you
Who made who
Ain't nobody told you
Who made who, who made you
If you made them and they made you
Who pick up the bill and who made who
Who made who
Who turned the screw
Yeah

Satellite send me picture
Get it in the eye
Take it to the wire
Spinnin' like a dynamo
Feel it goin' round and round
Runnin' outta chips
You got no line in an eight bit town
So don't look down, no

Who made who, who made you
Who made who
Ain't nobody told you
Who made who, who made you
If you made them and they made you
Who pick up the bill and who made who
Ain't nobody told you
Who made who
Who made you
Who made who
Who made who
Yeah
Nobody told you

Well, to add insult to injury, I went to my mechanic's shop this morning.

The cams in my engine are seized up.

Fortunately I do have a second vehicle, but this one is history.

It is almost impossible to find Toyota V-6 engines, as they last forever. Which is obviously what I had hoped for out of this one (1990 4Runner). It would cost me 3200 bucks for a new engine, and that would be without labor. And I don't have that kinda change right now.

As I kinda require 2 vehicles, looks like I am gonna be out shopping for
another used car soon.

Bleagh.

So today I stop at my fave music sto', and buy myself a couple (or three) consolation prizes.

1. A Complete History Of Pornography (2-DVD Set)

2. Betty Page - Varietease & Teaserama (with Tempest Storm & Lili St. Cyr)

3. Queen + Paul Rodgers - Return Of The Champion

And so I must paraphrase (as Return Of The Champions is playing in the background while I type this) a very, very old and very, very famous Shepherd Of The Forest:

"There is no curse word in the language of Ents, Elves Or Men that can describe the outright hosility I feel towards my vehicle that blew up on me Tuesday..."

http://show.imagehosting.us/show/1230209/0/nouser_1230/T0_-1_1230209.jpg

This show is astonishing in it's breadth, scope, and intensity. My seat was to be just above stage level, about 4 rows above the floor, not quite halfway back along the side of the arena.

Fucking beautiful seat.

And the goddamnable machinery failed me.

I will forever curse the memory of said vehicle, with great wishes for it's horrific destruction in a giant shredder, really slowly and with great force. Or perhaps wish it to be forced to run forever in a pit in Hell, with no oil...only sand to lubricate it's God-Cursed pistons and moving parts.

Toyotas are supposed to last forever.

This one was an abject failure at 220,000 miles.

Good Christ-a-mighty....drum solo, followed by a massive version of "I'm In Love With My Car", then Brian May guitar solo.

My only hope now is that they may tour the U.S. again someday.

"I'M IN HATE WITH MY CA-A-A-A-R...."

Though I do love this DVD, and feel fortunate that it exists....it is maddeningly infuriatring to see what a monster fucking show I have missed.

Thats bad.

But, I am glad they've decided to play Dragon Attack.

I must say, although I feel sorry for you, I do find it a little bit funny, cos you've been going on about this for months, and I got to see them in England.

But, it is a real shame.

They pulled the torrent because apparently a DVD of this show is going to be commercially released.......

....but only in Japan! :cato2:

Fuck that shit. First of all, it's an audio torrent, not the DVD. Second, if it ain't available in America, then the record company ain't losing any fucking money from it.

Alex Mogilny

Dime/EZT got scared when they were threatened with that lawsuit. If it is in a grey area....they will pull the torrent.

Fuck...I got 27% of it...useless

Hey man, it is the thought that ccounts.

Return Of The Champions kicked my ass so bad I will definitely buy the Japanese DVD. Same Region as the US, and I can get it on import.

Yes I had heard about it as well.
