I got this DVD Friday. It just came out recently. First saw it in the late 70s at a midnight movie.
Fucking cool.
Great interview with Ralph Bakshi.
He and George Lucas were in the same boat. Both were working on their respective films (Lucas was working on Star Wars at the time) and both were doing the movie through 20th Century Fox.
Ralph needed just $50,000 to finish Wizards, and Lucas needed $2-3 Million to finish Star Wars.
The Board Of Directors at 20th Century Fox told them both: "NO! YOU CANNOT HAVE ANY MORE MONEY!"
And the rest is history.
