Al Bundy and Married With Children, 11 of the best years of my life.

Al Bundy, Chicago shoe salesman: "Fat woman comes into the store today and asks for something she'd be comfortable in. I suggest Wyoming."

Al, loving husband and father:
(Bud) "Dad, why don't we just get rid of the Dodge and get a new car?"

(Al) "Bud, you don't throw something away just because it doesn't work. If that was the case you wouldn't have a mother."

Al Bundy, dreamer: "When I was a kid, I had 2 dreams. One was to have my own bathroom. The other was to become an astronaut and land on the planet Jayne Mansfield. Unfortunately Daddy got blown off course and crashed on a much darker planet."

Al Bundy, American: "It is wrong to be French."

Al took everything life could throw at him and yet he kept on going. He's my hero.

The story of NO MA'AM.

NO MAAM ( Nat'l Organization of Men Against Amazonian Masterhood) was formed by Al in 1994 in retaliation to Jerry Springer changing the mens bowling night to an all-womans night. Al got together a group of men and created NO MAAM. All the members of NO MAAM are married except for Griff. They all hate Marcy. Over the next several years, they stood togetner to fight for men's rights. They live by the 10, er 9 commandments set down by Ironhead Hayes (played by Waylon Jennings in the MWC episode):

1. It is OK to call Hooters knockers and sometimes snack trays.
2. It is wrong to be French.
3. It is OK to put all bad people in a meat grinder.
4. Lawyers, see #4.
5. It is OK to drive a gas guzzler if it helps you get babes.
6. Everyone should carpool except me.
7. Bring back the word stewardesses.
8. Sychronized swimming is not a sport.
9. Female Mud Wrestling is a sport.

I gotta say I larve the earlier episodes where Peggy was smoking when she was cooking...they took it off later...

Plus Al and Peg were actually having sex every now and then...ahahhah

Anybody remember the show when they had ANTHRAX visiting the Bundy palace? A show with ANTHRAX cun't be bad...

Kelly was also a tad smarter in the earlier episodes.

I love the episode where Al gets trapped in the supermarket and he's trying to escape so he can get home in time watch Hondo - "John Wayne's greatest movie of all time".

"My wife is out there unsupervised with credit cards!" - AL Bundy

Great thread idea!

Anthrax gets into Peg's Mystery loaf in the fridge and they end up starting that mother of a party!

"The Chicago house party is now out of control and has been declared a disaster area! Autorities are starting back-parties to try and slow the growth!"

Then they sing with Ed Kooky Burns!

The only thing I didn't like was how they really dumbed Al down by the last couple seasons. He just wasn't as cynical anymore. Almost like Peg had finally sucked the life out of him.

Just as well I guess. An "official" last episode was never shot. The last episode actually shot was the one where Kelly gets married but it was never intended to be a last episode. The cast got screwed over as well.

The "Bundys" were named for the wrestler, King Kong Bundy, who was a favorite of the 2 producers. He actually appeared in 2 episodes, once as a wrestler and once as a relative of Peggy's from Wanker County.

I've got one. I get tons of compliment about it when i wear it out. I found it interesting that the authentic shirts are actually a light grey not white, they just seem white because the stage lights are so bright. I bought the grey one.

I can't show any footage, but I do remember this episode where Kelly and Bud where hiding behind the counter in the shoestore when they saw Al arrive at work. He strolled in, took off his jacket, sat down, placed his hands in front of his eyes and stayed in his seat for the entire day. No customers, no nothing. He just sat there for nine hours realizing how miserable his life really is.

Or what about the numerous times he looked up and said "Good one, God"?

Very funny shit. Recognizable too.
