Wow! Thanks a lot T'n'P!
I once listened to an "MSG" album (from '89 or so) and it was so bad that I swore I'd never lend an ear again.
Now, that sounds great! Thanks again!

No shit. WTF happened ?

A shame. A great band with a lot of potential ......
I met M.S. in '93 . Him and Robin McAuley were doing the unplugged tour. Spencer Proffer played rythym guitar and harmony vocals.
Watched their sound check and hung out with M.S. for an hour afterwards. Michael was very sober at this point and in great spirits.
We talked about UFO ,ze Scorpions ,guitars .
I asked him if he had any advice. He just said 'Positive, forward. Eliminate the negatives in your life and persue your passion.

I remember a week later I sent my psycho-bitch girlfriend (who ,incidently was with me @ the show) packin her bags. My life improved instantly ! ...LOL !

Long live Schenker !

I don't know why, and don't flame me for this, but I find Gimme Your Love very catchy. I guess it's the chorus, but on the other hand, Schenker is a great player. For the longest time, every time I saw a Scorpions vid, I thought Rudie was Michael and Matthias was Rudie

Legendary guitarist Michael Schenker (MSG, ex-UFO, SCORPIONS) has posted several personal letters on his official web site, including a recent e-mail exchange with MSG's last vocalist, Jari Tiura, whom Schenker previously blamed for the cancellation of the group's U.S. tour. The e-mail exchange reads as follows:

Tiura: "Hi Michael, how are you? This situation is pretty confusing, so do you know what is my role now?"

Schenker: "I have quit playing."

Tiura: "Don't do that, please. Anyway, The Sun Will Shine. New album title? Take care and turn this all into music. Be strong!"

Schenker: "How can I be strong after you decide not to continue with the rest of the tour. I have given you the chance to be on the most important album of MSG. You canceled U.S. after I have put all my money into this project. This is an insult. I am tired of changing musicians and singers. MSG is finished and I am not inspired anymore. The sun will shine? What sun are you talking about? What next album are you talking about? You ****ed me and went your way. The sun is not selfish."
(The singer had asked for a raise and bailed after not getting one)

MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP released "Tales of Rock 'n' Roll", a special CD to celebrate the band's 25-year anniversary, on August 1 via Locomotive Records. The CD contains Michael Schenker's signature riffage on new cuts featuring an all-star assembly of singers who have recorded with Schenker over the past quarter-century: Graham Bonnet, Gary Barden, Robin McAuley, Kelly Keeling, Leif Sundin, Chris Logan and Michael's most recent vocalist, Jari Tiura. UFO's Pete Way chips in with bass for this special occasion and RACER X drummer Jeff Martin is behind the kit.

The acclaimed German lead guitarist has recorded 34 studio albums with 10 different bands, including SCORPIONS, UFO, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, and the MCAULEY/SCHENKER GROUP. Add to that eight live albums and five compilations and you get a staggering 47 Michael Schenker albums

MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP guitarist/keyboardist Wayne Findlay has posted a message on his web site confirming that "the MSG remaining U.S. shows have been put on hold." An official statement on the matter is expected shortly.

Michael Schenker previously posted a message on his web site that the band's U.S. tour would continue as planned.

Watch fan-filmed video footage of MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP's June 23, 2007 performance at the Avalon club in Santa Clara, California at YouTube.

Well he was booked to play 20 minutes from my house tonight but doesn't look like it's still on, from keyboardist Wayne Findley's post and Webster theater's schedule.

Excellent thread! I'd give ya 5 stars, but I already have! I am a huge Schenker/UFO fan! I am awaiting a UFO 1998 germany club show with schenker on guitar! I can't figure this guy out!! Drunk/Sober??? Insane??? However! He farts music and it goes out to the public! He's put out more solo/instrumental/collabs! On cd in the last 15 years and let us not forget the most important UFO reunion albums! WALKING ON WATER IS A+++ 1995, Too bad CVH couldn't do same in 1996! I even apprasied Dean zelinsky's home w/in the last two years(owner of DEAN guitars)! My bud from high school had a dean "V" back in 1982!! Not too keen on his new singer! He needs Gary Barden back in the fold!! That would be awesome!!

Sorry(The alcohol did it)("EDDIE DID IT") - Still love MSG musically! But if anyone saw this show I just recieved 1998 german club UFO reunion! It is hard to watch! Schenker is on one side of stage! Pete Way is in his face just trying to jam together and the whole fuckin show Schenker will not even look at him eye to eye(underated scorps disc!), He also has his dark hair "jack the ripper"look! Why go on stage if the hate is so deep! It is a great performance musically, however hard to enjoy when you can physically feel the HATE!!

It's so sad to see what this guy has become. What a wasted talent.

His work with UFO was just exceptional....

I saw him play in a tiny little club just outside of London last month, and believe me, Schenker is back kicking some serious arse.

Got a recording of the gig, the old man did it, will have to do a vine or something.

He even came out and signed autographs at the end and shook peoples hands, he was fucking loving it.

Eddie is top 5 but Michael Schenker is my favorite guitarist. New CD w/ Gary Garden (In the Midst of Beauty) is solid but won't make you forget the first two. Not a fan of Robin Mcauley so Barden is welcome addition to MSG.

It's so sad that Schenker pissed away all of that talent. At his peak, he was as good as any lead guitar player I can think of....
