Nope, it ain't a poll. Just weigh in. IMO, NOTW was the weirdest of the two, with "Jazz" being the last gasp @ ANATO type grateness. You can always beat two or three songs on "The Game" to death....yeesh. Was NOTW a farewell to HEAVY METAL? Is "Jazz" an underrated, dicey album?

Jazz is definitely the weirdest of the two. "News Of The World" was more of a straight ahead rock album - with one or two exceptions, while Jazz is all over the musical map.

Not too strange for the times though, when even the Rolling Stones were going from disco to punk to country all on the same record.

But even Mick drew the line at a full on Broadway style show tune. Freddie didn't......

Good points. "News Of The World", IMO, just strikes me as weirder. An off-the charts (literally) drum-smash filled with bitter references..double-sided with a melancholy, smash remittance?

It got weirder...hey-hey-hey-hey...it was the DNA?

Fuck, the RAMONES felt the sting on that one!

Sleepin' on the sidewalk? It's late....but not too late?

Fuck the melancholy blues...Freddie's headed to Berlin!
:D

Took the words right outta my mouth.

But wouldn't this be like trying to pick the weirdest Zeppelin album?

Well actually it was Munich, but that's close enough. Jazz reminds me of those crazy parties they had. You know, the one with midgets, prostitutes giving BJs to the record company management and strippers who smoked cigarettes from there crotch. Makes me wish I was rich and lived in the 1970's. :D

Jazz is weirder cos it isn't an album with a distinctive style.

In so far as "better" is concerned...

News of the World, hands down...

Jazz has always been a bit hit or miss for me...

Exactly, exactly.

I think NOTW was the last flawless Queen album.
