Okay For some wierd reason, I like some Fleetwood Mac, and a lot of 70's Music from like 1976 up.

So I thought I'd make a thread dedicated to them.

Here's their most well known hit landslide.

Rhiannon Live on The Midnight Special.

Stevie Nicks was quite hot back in the day IMO.

I think Buckingham bordered on genius, and Nicks has that one-of-a-kind throaty husk - Green-era Mac was great, but the Rumors lineup did some good stuff, up to and including Mirage.

Tango In The Night and after, well, not so much - but Buckingham's unaccompanied version of Big Love, with just him on a capoed nylon string with a bit of echo leaves me spellbound.

Ugh...That stuff sucks.

The 70's Fleetwood Mac made some truly wonderful music after Buckingham-Nicks arrived.

Stevie Nicks' voice and lyrics were wonderful, and Buckingham's songwriting was good. But his guitar work was tremendous! One of the most underated guitarist in music.

Right on Mr V !

Lindsay amazes me with his guitar work.
Especially considering he doesnt use a pick..

If we had to make a top ten list of pickless axemen,
LB would be in that list for sure..
Great live player too..

Very underated...

Yeah he is underrated. If you watch the old videos up there, you'll note they had three guitarists in the band. So as good as Peter Green was, he had two other dudes backing him up. But when you go from a three guitar lineup to one guitarist, then the one guitarist better be damn good.

When I saw the Fleetwood Mac "reunion" concert on TV a few years back, the first thing I noticed was that Lindsey actually seemed to have improved as a guitarist during his 10 years off. Unfortunately, the second thing I noticed was that his voice was shot.

It said a lot that when FM decided to keep going for a while in the 80s without Buckingham, they hired two guitar players to replace him.

Seems to me Clapton plays quite a few tunes with no pick. Didn't he do that on the unpluged album?

Kind of odd since he never really sang in a style that would hurt his voice.

Tom Petty played here in Gnashville a few weeks back. Imagine my surprise when I read a review of the show, and it turns out Stevie Nicks got up onstage with him and sang several songs....

I like them, but I pretty much only care for the Rumours album. There has not been a lot of their other stuff that kicked my ass.

Peter Green has a DVD out that I bought. One disc is electric stuff, and the other is acoustic.

I am glad he is out playing again.
