Casemeister showed me a world of great music when he recommended I listen to Hanoi Rocks. Even after only having finished downloading their music for a few hours, I can tell I'm going to enjoy their music very much. So far, Bangkok Shocks....... is my favorite. However, that's the only one I've listened to in its entirety. It sounds like great party/roadtrip music.

Give Michaels solo stuff a listen! I think it is better than the Hanoi stuff! Michael is among my top faves .... great showman! Plays sax and harmonica!

If I had to pick favourite songs, I'd go with "Motorvatin'" or "Fallen Star" (a truly beautiful song.)

That band kicked so much ass, and was absolultey unique.

The true rock n roll gypsies IMO.

Yep, and the craziest part is that a few years ago Motley released a box set called "music to crash your car too".

Brains aren't high on the agenda in that band!

Yeah, Two Steps is good. I like Back to Mystery City a lot. They have a good live set, All Those Wasted Years- Live at the Marquee.

ALOT of band are influenced by Hanoi ... Micheal and Sebastian have jammed many times and you can see Axl along with Micheal in the video I posted! I look at Vince on the backside of Motleys THEATER of PAIN album and Micheal on the Self Destruction cover and see double!

well...the interviewer has made the topic about the critics towards hanoi rocks...and about being in London...and how important the looks are

so they respond...

Michale

"I'll never move back to Finland where they may kick my ass for having a long hair"

then Andy says

"I'd rather move to Poland!"

hahah

Also, when they ask about the importance of looks...they talk how people come to the gigs because of the music, BUT they also want a good-looking show!

Well said...

UP!

Going to see Real McCoy in Helsinki tonight. Andy's got some of his former bandmates from Hanoi Rocks, plus, CHRIS STIFLETT from the Foo Fighters with him, and last weeked they played some of the less played Hanoi Rocks (like Taxi Driver) tracks plus Andy solo material, plus Andy's Briard-material (a less known punk band he had with Pete Malmi). Chris had been very friendly to the fans...he's been on a Wembley act for the last several years, but now he's setting up his own guitars and giving autographs plus chatting with fans after the gig...down to earth I'd say. Really looking forward to this gig.

Andy's 90's hit, "Strung Out"

YouTube - Andy McCoy(Hanoi Rocks) - Strung out (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hw0Wi715E0&feature=player_embedded)

Briard song "Fuck the Army" is funny...given it's made in the 70's, when Finland Funland was still really careful about the Soviet Union, and the finnish army was worshipped and respected as hell...unlike these days. Here's the original version:

Just came back from the gig. A short gig, just about 1 h and 15 minutes, but a GRATE selection of songs, and the band rocked. Chris sang some of the classics too. Briard, Andy solo and Hanoi Rocks rarities..."Strung Out", "River of Dreams", "Born Again Electric", "Malibu Beach", "Taxi River", even "Ice Cream Summer"! Angela McCoy, the one Andy "stole" from Izzy Stradlin...now she was really just a mascot.

Hanoi playing live...

Bullshit. Hanoi Rocks didn't mean shit in the USA until 'Two Steps From The Move' came out so there's no way Motley could be influenced by Hanoi Rocks. Especially if Vince was sporting his platinum blonde look since 1980. Axl was a readhead Michael's copycat in the mid 80's, though.

then Andy says

"I'd rather move to Poland!"

No, Andy, you wouldn't. :D
