The first men to walk on the Moon reported seeing a UFO, a new TV documentary reveals.

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the Moon's surface after Neil Armstrong, says space agency bosses covered up their sighting.

And the Apollo 11 astronauts were also careful not to talk about it openly.

He said: "There was something out there, close enough to be observed, and what could it be?

"Now, obviously the three of us weren't going to blurt out, 'Hey, Houston, we've got something moving alongside of us and we don't know what it is, you know?

"Can you tell us what it is?'

"We weren't about to do that, because we knew that that those transmissions would be heard by all sorts of people and somebody might have demanded we turn back because of aliens or whatever the reason is."

The documentary, tonight on Five, also reveals that the astronauts had to repair the lunar module with a ballpoint pen after the historic landing in July 1969.

In the cramped conditions, someone's bulky spacesuit had snapped off a circuit breaker essential for starting up the engine.

To this day, Aldrin treasures the everyday object that saved their lives.

He said: "I used a pen, one of several that we had on board that didn't have metal on the end, and we used that to push the circuit breaker in."

The programme also draws on classified documents made public for the first time.

HOLY KRAP!

This documentary is on the Science channel right now!!!

They said in the intro that the total computing power of the Saturn V was less than that of a modern day digital watch!!!

And I don't know if what they showed was real or some other footage but they were talking about the UFOs that were flying alongside them when they were in space and they showed some film footage of some objects floating in space.....

If this truly is footage from this mission showing the actual UFOs...this will be an historic release of information!

This documentary is called "First On The Moon: The Untold Story".

So far it has only been on for 5 minutes but it already has told me stuff I never heard before...like the massive fuel leak that occurred just before launch, but they launched anyway....

Man...what a fucking trip.

BACK TO THE TV!!!!!

:D

Holy shit!

The film they showed of the UFO was from a LATER APOLLO MISSION WHERE THEY ALSO ENCOUNTERED A UFO IN SPACE!!!

Yeppers, and the excuse couldn't have been 'space junk' back then, because we hadn't yet begun polluting it yet.

Did you know that the earth is forming a ring of its own?

And from the last Shuttle mission an astronaut lost a rubber spatula that he was using to spread some sort of goo to repair a panel on the craft. he let go of it for a second and it floated away before he could grab it again.
It is now rotating the earth at over 7,000 miles per hour.

There are bolts flying around out there that if they hit something they go completely through it.

I believe the Shuttle was actually damaged by debris on the last trip, i remember hearing a news report about that.

It's dangerous business, but what a way to go, eh?

Quick explanation for the hard of thinking.

UFO means Unexplained Flying Object not flying saucer with little green men.

So Buzz Aldrin is saying that looking out the window he didn't know what something he saw was?

Well there's a surprise.

That happens to me every day when I look at the plughole in my kitchen sink.

Cheers!

:gulp:

Yeah back then the astronauts had to be able to do calculations in their head!

What's this "logic" everybody seems to flash around these days?

Here is the segment I captured from the show.

Yes, UFO means just that.

But you tell us what it is, Sesh, since you are the world's foremost authority...

There is some very interesting, even spooky, footage. I recall seeing some camera footage taken from one of the Apollo missions, in which something seems to be flying over the moon's surface. It appeared to be maneuvering as if it was under intelligent control...

Maybe Neil Armstrong, as he seems not to have told about that, made jokes to Buzz by lighting his farts and saying "Hey, Buzz, look at this! UFOs!"

:D Sorry. :o

Very cool thread, BTW.

Totally. I had this argument at University about 10 years ago. Consider all the planets in not just our solar system, but in the Universe as a whole – that’s a few million planets. Now the universe is still expanding at an exponential rate, so to assume that of the millions planets already formed that we are some sort of fluke, is to me unbelievably arrogant.

Anyone who claims there is no intelligent life in the Universe obviously thinks human beings do not exist....
