I haven't paid any attention to Slayer since "Divine Intervention", actually...do they still SOUND like Slayer, at least?

very much the same. If you stopped at "Divine Intervention" then you have not missed anything. not really any different.

Well, so long as there hasn't really been a noticable detraction in quality...I might experiment with it...

What's so bad about it? They're just gettin' close to the fans. It's not like they're suing them like Shitallica did

Exactly. They have done in-store signings for years. I remember one as far back as 1990. A little confused about Hot Topic though. Oh well. A chance to meet them is always cool. I wish more bands/celebrities/athletes did stuff for the fans. (Without doing it at a baseball card convention and charging $100 per sig).

In stores are great...it's just Hot Topic of all places. I just can't quite picture very many emo kids getting into Slayer-and I sure as hell can't fathom Slayer hanging with them. This radio-friendly nu-metal shit is what Hot Topic is all about.

Correct! I go into Hot Topic sometimes and buy old metal shirts. Spencer's sometimes has cool old metal shirts too. (I just bought a Seasons in the Abyss shirt)

Not really, the emo scene's there, but not in huge doses. They've really started to get into hardcore/metalcore. But I think they're going to Hot Topic because they carry a lot of Slayer merch

Bob, check out "God Hates us All" - that sounds furious. They captured the live energy on record.

Apparently "christ Illusion" (the new one) is awesome too!

Well boys, Christ Illusion just hit stores and my Rhapsody service. I gave it an unbiased listen, and it's got a lot of energy to it. Very fast, extremely furious, it has the vibes of Reign In Blood. I'd suggest checking it out

Does it sound like Lomabardo era Slayer, or the 90's stuff?

Is it a patch on God Hates us All?
