I almost bought one of these little fuckers on Ebay, anyone got any stories or thoughts on it? It's an old Reb Beach model that's about as old as I am

Somebody outbid me, but the asking price was $350, including a case and strap.

I can advise that mid 80's Ibanez models rock !
They are awesome...

Having said that, I played one of the recent RG series
and was blown away. One of the fastest actions I
have ever felt on a guitar. And all those frets to play
with, very cool..

Im sure that guitar would be excellent..

I dont like the body design of that model though..
(the cutaway to the saddle doesnt do it for me)

But it probably plays great...

The cutaway on the back was inspired by a Steinberger model. It was used for some crazy tremolo stuff.

That would have been my guess.
Try out a steinberger if you get a chance. Great playability and tone. I don't think anyone around here likes them but they're among my favorites to play.

that's an rbm2, in reb's own opinion they're pretty poor guitars

the rbm1 on the other hand is a much better piece of kit
...mind you they cost about 4 times as much

the best voyagers were the 2 prototypes reb had made, one was oiled natural wood and the other was stained blue

fookin' tasty the pair of 'em

a bit like cat deeley and sarah harding

the really nice thing about the prototypes was that they didn't have that mirror pickguard, in fact they didn't have any pickguard

I kinda liked the pickguard. Different strokes, I guess

Unfortunately, some guy from Florida owns one of the originals now. I almost bought the WRB-3, but that thing was like 3000 bucks

Is that a Kahler tremelo ?? Looks similar to the trem on
my Ibanez Destroyer II....

Wonder how well these guitars stay in tune with all
that extra leverage on the trem... ??

Reb's versions had Floyd Roses, but the ones on the market had the Ibanez Edge tremolo, similar to the Floyd Rose

I own one of these (RBM 10). I got it for Christmas back in 1995. It's got the natural wood finish similar to Rebs, but not near as nice. That one of Reb's is a great guitar. I've never really owned any real fancy guitars so I am probably pretty naive about how nice they can be, but I like the RBM 10 just fine. Even though it is a bolt on neck it still feels OK to me. I'm not all that good anymore so it does what I need it to and I am happy with it. Even though as years go on I'm not quite as excited about the cutaway and I wonder how much tone is sacrificed with that piece gone, but oh well I am glad I got it because it is unique. That one of Reb's kills though. I wish my scanner was working I would post a pic. This is my first day With The DLR Army site and I must say this is very cool. I'm gonna be in the forums alone for about 12 hours.
