I just ran across this just now.

My ex-landlady just gave me a small piece of Civil War-era furniture, and I was doing some searching around the net for antique apparaisers and found this place, as they are based in California, but have a cool buncha stuff...

Here is what the dude says about the store and how it came to be:

I was first introduced to antiques in about 1963. My father had a love for the old west and its history. At that time we started buying coin operated machines. One of his first purchases was an 1899 Mills Owl upright slot machine purchased in St. Louis. When we got the machine home my farther and I worked on it until we had it working well. From that time on my father acquired hundreds of Antiques of all types. In 1975 I bought my first antique slot machine and restored it. Over the years, I have perfected my craft for restoring antiques and collectables. In 1995 I purchased a commercial building in Tustin, CA as a home for my antiques and game room retail store.

Man, some of those jukeboxes I recall in the 70s could really crank out the tunes! I dunno what kind of amplification system they had in them but those things could really rock!!!

I am sure there are many other stores out there that sell the same stuff. It was the antique slot machines that caught my eye. How cool would it be to have one of those!!!

When I was about 12, a friend of mine from school invited me over to his house. While in the basement, I noticed that there was an actual slot machine there. My friend said it belonged to his mom, but did not work.

Hell, there was a little window in the front, and I could see the thing was crammed with Mercury Head dimes!!!

Christ...of course there are other places that sell antique slot machines...

Like (wouldn't ya know it) www.antiqueslotmachines.com

those old jukes are sweet. my dad knows a guy that restores old jukeboxes and he'll make his own replacement parts if he has to.
