Mets in 5? Their pitching is kinda beat up and the dodgers are so damn lucky at the moment, I could see LA taking this.

I would have said the Padres in 4 yesterday but after game 1 I think this will go 5. Still think the Pads have the best team though, top to bottom, as long as Pujols doesn't go off on them.

Mets in 3
Cards in 4

Padres bats take the day off. San Diego has 1 run in 18 innings. Who woulda thunk it. St. Louis may close this thing out at home.

Mets up 2-0.

Dodgers losses have been disappointing, I thought they'd make this a series. But we Dodger fans are used to it by now, considering they've won one playoff game in 18 years.

The Dodgers are a young team, they'll be stronger next year.

I don't think any of the NL teams has a chance to win the Series this year, so it's just a fight to finish 2nd.

I'm hoping. On paper they should be very good next year. Although I'm not throwing in the towel just yet, I still think they can win the two games here this weekend.

Shit! Tigers up 2-1 over the Yankees. Yankees may be watching the WS at home.

Brett

Wouldn't that be nice too...again.

I didn't watch the game last night...and didn't find out the Yanks lost until today...

wow...

and it will all come down on ARod...lmfao

funny shit IF they lose...

Will update today as the game is being played...

Tigers up 3-0 in the second...with former Indian Jaret Wright getting shelled. Only 1 out in the second...

POJO_Risin

4-0 in the fourth inning...

Yankees not doing anything...

my belief though is that they'll make a run in this game...

POJO_Risin

6-0...two home in the fifth...runners on 2nd and 3rd...

and the fat lady is piping up...

I suspect big changes in Yankee-land if this conitnues...

I'm rooting for Maddux tonight. I wish he was still with the Cubs. :(

POJO_Risin
10-07-2006, 08:16 PM
I wish Cleveland would have done the right thing and brought Maddux onboard...what an influence he can be to a staff...

Warham
10-07-2006, 08:21 PM
I'm not so sure Maddux won't be back with the Cubs next year. lol

POJO_Risin
10-07-2006, 08:27 PM
I don't know...I think there are several places that he could end up...

but I think Chicago and Atlanta will be at the top of the list...

POJO_Risin
10-07-2006, 08:29 PM
It should be interesting though...

see...to me...Maddux is a guy that could turn the Pirates around...just in preparation...and winning...

It would be interesting to see if a team like Pittsburgh would throw some money his way...

Warham

Greg loves the fans out in Chitown, and we've always loved him.

The worst mistake in the last twenty years by the Cubs organization was letting him go via free agency after '92. Sickening.

POJO_Risin
10-07-2006, 08:33 PM
Well...it just depends what Maddux wants...

my guess is playoffs...

and no offense...but the Cubbies aren't really that close...and have other free agent issues coming their way...

not to mention a manager's job.

Warham
10-07-2006, 08:34 PM
You got that right. They better hire Girardi, or I'm gonna be pissed.

POJO_Risin
10-07-2006, 08:53 PM
Well...you have to ask if he's the right guy there. Girardi did a great job in Florida...but he was essentially managing a minor league team...

full of rookies.

I don't think he is the right guy there...with only 1 year of experience. I think they could get a better candidate...but that's just me. What they need to do...is hire a damn pitching coach first...lmfao...

Warham
10-07-2006, 10:14 PM
I'm not hot on Pinella, and that's who's on everybody else's list for their favorite possible hires.

POJO_Risin
10-07-2006, 11:49 PM
I'm hoping Cleveland will fire Wedge for Pinella...

but I don't think it will happen...

I could see Pinella ending up in NY if Torre calls it a career...

POJO_Risin
10-07-2006, 11:52 PM
IMO...Girardi will be hired in Chicago ASAP...

that's where he wants to go...and the only other serious consideration right now would be New York for him...

I COULD see Steinbrenner hire him as a bench coach and manager in waiting...

but...Girardi...being a Chicago guy...is the logical choice...

I just don't think the best choice...

Warham
10-07-2006, 11:58 PM
Pinella would love to see Torre retire.

POJO_Risin
10-08-2006, 12:02 AM
No offense to Torre...

he's one of the greats...

but he's not getting the job done there.

I know...I know...blame the players...

but right now...you need someone to chafe that team's ass...and Pinella's just the guy to do it...

Warham
10-08-2006, 12:05 AM
I wouldn't be surprised if Steinbrenner fires him.

See, Torre had the fans behind him the last few years, because of that cache he had built up from those four rings. But that's gone. History.

Cards close out the Padres 6-2.

Cards vs. Mets in NL final. Lots of people will be pulling for the Mets so they can see a subway WS.

Oh, wait. The Yanks are eliminated.

If I was any calmer I'd be asleep.

Secondly, since when do you give a fuck for me? Thanks, regardless. :)
