One of the funniest spoof movies ever made.
You'll also see these comedians in "The Young Ones" and "Bottom" on the BBC. Funny as fuck....

I enjoyed this movie as much as This is Spinal Tap......

I have this on VHS.

Also on the tape is the sequel: "More Bad News".

Spianl Tap is kinda lame compared to this!

Yeah!

Spinal Tap takes the piss out of rock stars.

Bad News takes the piss out of everyone who was ever in a pub band.

It`s far easier to relate to.

Everything that we love about Heavy Metal is in either Bad News or Spinal Tap.

When they are fighting over who gets to use the only Marshall half stack in the studio it is a riot!

Bad News was fine, but still pales in comparison to the Young Ones, IMO.

The Young Ones, The Kids In The Hall and Strangers With Candy are all three of the most brilliant comedy series ever.

One episode of anyof those shows lays to fucking waste the utter shite coming out of SNL for the last...well, at least the last 12 years.

Bad News did their own 'version' of Bohemian Rhapsody and the video was a fucking riot! These guys always liked to satirize many things in the rock music world. Never saw Spinal Tap, but thanks to these guys, I'll watch it.

SNL was good back when Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman, Adam Sandler, Norm MacDonald, etc...when that cast was on SNL. I watched an episode of SNL last year for the first time in a while, and it's downright horrible now! The cast is lame...NONE of them are funny! I can sit through an entire episode with a straight face! Weekend Update used to be good back when Dennis Miller, then Norm MacDonald did it. Now the unfunny Adam Sandler wannabe clown and that equally as unfunny girl now do it, and it's lame!

Saturday Night Live is the equivalancy of a dead cat these days. It used to be lively and full of life but now it's laugh and fun factor are out of life energy now.

Those best of DVDs are all we have left that's of that era. It was clever and sharp with fresh ideas. Weekend Update was what I always looked forward to with Kevin Nealon, Norm MacDonald, or Dennis Miller. The though of SNL barely crosses my mind these days and that's a royal shame. Face it, SNL is nothing but a little shadow of what it used to be. An empty shell.

MAD TV had potential but it fizzled out in the later years.

Kevin Nealon...damn, I forgot about him! He was good on WU as well, and a funny cast member in the skits, too! Have you ever listened to any of Adam Sandler's comedy albums? If not, pick up "What The Hell Happened To Me" and listen to "The Hypnotist".

I'd have to agree on all counts.

Even the last season with Farley, Spade, Sandler, think it was 94-95, had more lows than highs.

After that, McDonald and Update was really the only thing worth watching. About one skit a show either O'Teri, Shannon, Kattan, Bruer, Meadows, Morgan or Ferrell would do something worthwhile (usually not involving the stock Cheerleader/Goatboy/Mango/Ladie's Man characters being run into the ground for the umpteenth time) - and the Smeigel cartoons could be funny at times, but by the time Fey, Fallon and Poehler took over the writing and bulk of skit time, that show started sucking a big goose egg. About the only one who could get a chuckle out of me was Dratch.

Mad TV, especially in the seasons before Sasso and Sullivan left the show, effortlessly kicked SNL's ass.

Watched the first SNL episode from the 2005 season, didn't laugh once, mumbled to the old lady "I'm done with this show", and that's that.

Yeah but I watched SNL all through the 70s.

THOSE were the days.....
:D

I agree...the Young Ones are the shit.

Nigel Planer is pretty good at playing a fucking idiot.

The only CD I have from Adam Sandler is the 'They are all gonna laugh at you!' one. I overplayed it to death and I shudder to listen to it again. But he's one of those cast members from that era that did so well post-SNL. Kevin Nealon didn't do anything significant after his tenure with SNL. He should have had projects lined up before leaving like most of his castmates. And it really is the smarter thing to do. Have something to fall back on and keep you fresh in show business.
Another person to have that failure, Tim Meadows.

I have that one, also. Get "What The Hell Happened To Me", it's alot better than that one! Some of the stuff on there will have you laughing so hard you'll hurt!

Thanks! Will get that one soon. I've been keeping myself occupied with CDs from Dennis Leary and Jeff Foxworthy. Comedy CDs are always great to have if listening to music gets a little tiresome.
