No thanks. I'll just take your word for it.

Indeed, no need to lend an ear, just knowing it's a Paul Stanley album is enough.

"Live to win", "Give to live", all that kind of things...

I'm lucky that I only skimmed it.

What a fucking waste of bandwidth to even download the trash.

I'm sure it's bad but surely not as bad as Gene's last one.........Or is it?

Asshole was horrible. So is Live to Win.

I'm going to go with Asshole though.

God, SHIT!

At least it was appropriately named.

I've caught the single on XM a few times.

Did not seem in the very least memorable at all...it will fade away.

Why are they doing these solo albums anyways...that ship sailed long ago.

I hope Ace puts something out and it kills these 2 jokers sales.

It's not like Rock Soldiers was any better.

But I hope the same thing.

These two idiots need to stop...

If the Devil wants to play his card game now
He's gonna have to play without an Ace in his deck!!

I love how he says it right in the middle of the fucking song....

CHEESY.

I guess it's better than

" LIVE! YEAH! WIN! YEAH!"

They were never musically great though.

They didn't have much to lose.

Paul`s `78 solo album is the worst record in the Kiss catologue.

And I do mean the whole catologue.

No, in my opinion, "that`s the kind of sugar Papa likes".

Mr Badguy

Here the set from Paul`s first solo show in Atlanta (did you go, Russ?).

Live To Win
Hide Your Heart
A Million To One
Got To Choose
Move On
Bulletproof
Tonight
Lick It Up
Wouldn`t You Like To Know Me?
Magic Touch
I Still Love you
Strutter
Every Time I See You Around
Do You Love Me
I Want You
Love Gun
=========
Lift
Detroit Rock City
Goodbye

Shit, and people here moaned about the Iron Maiden set.

Imagine trying to sit through that bunch of typical Stanley chest beaters?

If I hadn`t walked out by the time "I still love you" then that would be my cue.

Set info from Blabbermouth.

I can't believe he's playing crap from his first solo "effort".

That dude is weak!

Mr Badguy

A couple of interesting choices, "Magic touch" and " A million to one", but the rest of the set is a mix of tired standards and stuff that should never be heard live again.

I remember he compared "I still love you" to Led Zeppelin in one interview.

WTF?

That song is without doubt the worst on "Creatures Of The Night", especially his stupidly over-the-top vocal.

Credit where it`s due, though, "Goodbye" and "Wouldn`t you like to know me?" are probably the best songs from his `78 solo album.

True, but isn't that a sad thing to admit?

It could`ve been worse.

Imagine if he decided to play "Ain`t quite right", "Hold me, touch me" and "Take me away (together as one)".

People would be asking for their money back.

I wonder how many punters showed up?

I was going to go to it....

But then I found out that it was going to cost money.

Paul Stanley, "Live To Win" (Universal)

By WAYNE PARRY, Associated Press Writer
Fri Oct 20, 1:40 PM ET

Underneath the Starchild makeup and atop the 7-inch platform heels, Kiss lead singer Paul Stanley has always had the heart of a talented songwriter. On "Live To Win," he casts off the shackles of Kiss and dishes up a second solo disc that's more Foo Fighters than Frehley.

But the modern sound is welded to a firm foundation of '70s and '80s rock and proves there's a lot more to this man than pouty red lips and a rose tattoo.

Many of the songs appear to deal with the recent turmoil in Stanley's life, including a divorce, remarriage and the birth of a child, and the title track drips with angst, tempered with an "I'm-not-giving-in" defiance. "Lift" is about a quest for forgiveness and redemption from a broken love, and "Wake Up Screaming" is perhaps the most infectious track here, with its electronic drum beat giving way to a thundering chorus amid the kind of catchy hook Stanley has been dishing up for three decades.

"Bulletproof" is the closest thing to classic Kiss here. It sounds a lot like 1988's "Rock Hard," and could have fit in easily on 1989's "Hot In The Shade" LP. "It's Not Me" weds a Prince-like groove to more memorable melodies and scorching guitar.

The downside of a solo album is there's no one around to say, "What are you, kidding?" when particularly cheesy ballads are proffered, and he has three chunks of cheddar here that make the much-maligned "Hold Me, Touch Me" from his 1978 solo album sound like "Stairway To Heaven."

Because it's being compared to Gene Simmons' Asshole and Paul's first solo record.

Cannibal Corpse is enjoyable compared to that heap.

Ha Ha!

Well, I won't be getting Paul's new record then, although I can't see how it could be worse than Gene's....

It's not as bad. Nothing is.

I'm trying to say that his record looks like Led Zeppelin in comparison to it.

Hey.....Live to Win is pretty fuckibng bad, But ASSHOLE is still a million times worse.

It is nice to see he played "Move On" and "Got to Choose" as well as "A Million to One"and "Strutter". "Magic Touch" is a horrible fucking song. It should have stayed buried and forgotten. Paul Stanley's 1989 solo tour was fucking killer compared to this heap of shit.

I actually had free tickets to see it tonight, It kicked ass. He played a lot of old KISS songs... his voice was incredible and so was his stage presence.

I thought it was funny how Paul got mad at the audience because everyone knew the words to the album which was released today.

He went off on this short speech about how illegal downloading is wrong and will get your ass kicked.

So, what we've learnt is that both Gene's and Paul's creative talents have all but dried up....

It's no surprise, after all, if both Simmons and Stanley put such things out.
There are so many tracks that I can but skip in KISS already...
You know, all those pussy ballads and those big, dumb, gaga choruses... How many dozens of so embarrassing, silly tunes in Kiss, first off, anyway... So, if it's got worse on their solo records, well, it's just how it goes - but how appalling then, if they've even made worse stuff...
