If you do not want your computer to be quickly destroyed by the high amounts of bullshit prevalent on the Intarweb, I recommend upgrading your Firefox to version 2.0. I think it was released yesterday.

www.getfirefox.com.

I love the new look of it too!

I have Opera, and I know how to use it.

But I'll give that one a shot too.

Well, at least you're not using IE.

Haven't used IE since '03.

I stopped using it around that time too.

Who the hell would make an OS file system navigator capable of accessing the Internet?

The new IE7 is a complete piece of shit. If anyone is thinking of downloading it, save your bandwidth.

IE7 is a hunk of elephant shit. But you'll get it in future updates if you get Windows updates.

Speaking of updates, my Firefox never alerts me to updates anymore...

Boy is 2.0 a nice upgrade!!

At least they stole the tabs feature from Firefox. Screw IE. What a hunk of shit.

Replace IE with Microsoft, and you're right on.

Is anyone else having cookie problems with the new FF2? The browser is lightening fast, but I can't get into e-mail or even stay logged on to this forum!

Figured it out, had some cookies inadvertently blocked from 1.5, which really didn't block cookies too well so I didn't notice.:D

For those that are interested in protecting their Windows machines from receiving the IE7 virus I'm including the contents of the blocker command file. It will ensure Windows Update doesn't install this new version. Just create a new *.cmd file, paste the contents I've included, then run the file. Your machines will be safe from getting IE7 without you knowing.

incl. (paste the following into a new *.cmd file):

@echo off

REM MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER 7 Upgrade Blocker

set ProductName=Internet Explorer 7.0
set REGBlockKey=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Setup\7.0
set REGBlockValue=DoNotAllowIE70

set RemoteMachine=%1

goto LocalMachine

set RemoteMachineName=%1
set Action=%2

:Parse
goto Block

:Block
Echo Blocking deployment of %ProductName% on %RemoteMachineName%
REG ADD "\\%RemoteMachine%\%REGBlockKey%" /v %REGBlockValue% /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
goto End

REM :UnBlock
REM Echo Unblocking deployment of %ProductName% on %RemoteMachineName%
REM REG DELETE "\\%RemoteMachine%\%REGBlockKey%" /v %REGBlockValue% /f
goto End

:LocalMachine
set Action=%1
set RemoteMachine=.
set RemoteMachineName=the local machine
goto Parse

:End
