4 -year-old Accused of Improperly Touching Teacher

by Jennifer Kent

BELLMEAD- A four-year-old hugged his teachers aide and was put into in-school suspension, according to the father. But La Vega school administrators have a different story.

Damarcus Blackwell's four-year-old son was lining-up to get on the bus after school last month, when he was accused of rubbing his face in the chest of a female employee.

The prinicipal of La Vega Primary School sent a letter to the Blackwells that said the pre-kindergartener demonstrated "inappropriate physical behavior interpreted as sexual contact and/or sexual harassment."

Blackwell says it's ridiculous that the aide would misread a hug from a four-year-old. Blackwell wrote to administrators demanding that the whole incident be expunged from his son's academic file because his son is too young to know what it means to act sexually.

David Davis, the executive director of the Advocacy Center in Waco tends to agree with Blackwell. He says assuming the boy has not had sexual encounters, or been inappropriately exposed to pornography, most four-year-olds are sexually innocent.

Blackwell got a response from the La Vega administration. The sexual references on the discipline referral were removed. But the thing that makes Blackwell most upset is they told him "your request for an apology by the aide and removal of all paperwork regarding this incident is denied." Now the young student's file will refer to the incident as "inappropriate physical contact." And Blackwell says he will continue to fight the district.

La Vega I.S.D. administrators told News Channel 25 they couldn't comment on this case because of student privacy issues.

If I had a dollar for every time one of my first-graders graced a boob or my butt while in the process of attacking me with hugs or trying to get my attention, I'd be a wealthy gal. But you can tell, especially when they're 5-7, that they don't mean anything malicious.

That sick bitch is the one they should keep an eye on...

Either she really felt "something" being touched by a kid or she is faking it, for law suit purposes...
In both cases, she is insane!

It is. They hang all over me. Sometimes I need to peel them off.

A lot of teachers I've dealt with tell me not to be their friend, but I balance the friend-older mentor position with them and it works for me as far as discipline and working goes. Issues barely come up in our classroom.

Plus it means I'm the coolest adult they know, leading to lots of hugs. :D

Honest to fuck....I have no idea how I actually grew up to be an honest, good citizen. I mean, according to the PC laws that control us today, everything is objectionable! Now 4 year olds are actually expected to know that rubbing their faces in boobs is wrong? HELL, THESE FUCKING KIDS ARE ONLY A COUPLE OF YEARS REMOVED FROM DEPENDING ON BOOBS FOR FOOD, FER CRISSAKES!!!!!!

I honestly think all stupid people need to be extermintaed. All of them. I'll be the judge. Mr. V has SPOKEN!!!!!

OMG!!! Vengie and I agree on something!

Seriously, the breast is not only a source of food for very young children, it is also a great source of warmth and security. Somebody please tell me how a toddler can hug a woman without his head touching her breasts.

That bitch better never have kids or at least never breast feed. Better yet, she should be taken into custody as a preventative measure.

I know what you mean. I'm class mom for my daughter's second grade class (as I was in kindergarten and first.) I get at least twenty five of these hugs every time I'm at school. Kid hugs are the best.

A 4 year old being accused of sexual harassment? Now I've heard it all! That's ridiculous! A 4 year old doesn't know anything about sex, and is too young to know the connection between boobs and sex. I can remember when I was young about having a fascination about women's cleavage, it was a curiousity thing, and I think all young boys, at least, may have the same curiousity about them. It's not a sexual thing at that age, just a curiousity about what those two things are that are stuffed in that shirt, and why men don't have them. That may have been the case here, and the little boy just needed a closer inspection!

"Innocent"... I remember that when I was that age, we used to sing "Haut les mains (Hands up!), peau d'lapin ("rabbit skin"), la maitresse en maillot d'bain" (the mistress in a swimsuit)... And we meant it! :D
Unfortunately, you wouldn't go to the swimming-pool before the age of 7. :(

Now maybe that kid once heard his dad say that he would rub his §%$¤ between her tits in a minute? :D

unless the 4 year old was shown the way to fondle women that way by having a sick pervey father doing it all the time, I doubt the 4 year old is going to know anything about bewbies. Now if the mother was still breast feeding the 4 year old, the kid may just want to latch on. But I doubt the teacher has a case here. I didn't start looking up teachers dresses until 4th grade.

It seems that whenever there is a physical contact in a work place or in school, someone gets in trouble...
But a 4 years old?

Next, we'll be suing babies for drewling on our clothes?

O.K. but at that age, where you gonna have a hard on (due to sexual excitement) and act upon it?
But do you really think that a 4-year old could be maliciously harassing a woman?

I used to like grabing my Mom's breasts at age 3, because it was soft and comfy... but there was absolutely nothing sexual about that!

A young boy in Kindergarten kissed a girl (You may remember it on National News)here in NC.

The teacher said he was "sexually harrassing" the little girl, and if he didn't get reprimanded while he was in Kindergarten, he'd become a horrible adult.

I just can't even fatham that reasoning. Something like that could scar a child for life.

The teacher was ridiculed so much, hopefully she learned a lesson.

Once when my son John was small the young teacher called us in for a parent-teacher conference. She said something was wrong with him because he didn't follow normal playground rules. And that she felt he needed to see a psychiatrist, because deeper issues might be hidden.
Finally the Principal got impatient and asked her for specific instances that she was referring to. All she could come up with was that he would slide then walk up the slide the wrong way. The Principal got mad and said, " If that were true half the population needed to see a psychatrist, him included."

Today we started our measurement unit in Math. The program starts out with personal measurements -- fingers, feet, armspans, etc. The kids wanted to find out how many "feet" tall I was. So I let them, because measuring the teacher is always fun for them. Then I saw the one girl lean over and give me the biggest grin. I was then surrounded by 25 first graders tickling me. My little bunch of smart asses.

Then there was my last day doing the 4th grade a few months ago where my class of 23 rushed towards me for one huge class hug, screaming, "overthrow the captain!" (We had celebrated International Talk Like a Pirate Day, so pirate stuff was big with us)

It all depends on how comfortable you feel with the kiddies and how much of a stick is stuck up your ass. Young kids will tap you anywhere to get your attention and half the time they're not even looking at you or where their hand is landing on you when they do it.

What... do they pretend to walk with a wooden leg and a hook as a hand, while saying "Arrrh, arrrh..."?

It must be fun, sometimes to be a teacher... you get to do those cute lil' "crazy" things...

Back in OK I was teaching CCD (Catholic Child Development) class (8th graders).

One came in carrying a branch off a tree. I took it and put it under my chair.

The nun came in to observe, I felt totally a wreck. When I tried to explain the branch off the tree under my chair the whole class had a good laugh on me. Then things went from bad to worse,
Trying to acquaint them with taking the scripture and applying it to something they could understand: 23rd. Psalms..." The Lord is my
shepherd..." A smart ass popped up and said, "Well, we only have pig farmers around here." Amazingly the nun said, "They love you, they only joke around with teachers they like."

Once when I was teaching the smaller children, I asked them to draw a picture of their family. Everyone finished but one young girl. When they remarked that she needed to hurry up, she replied, "Well, my mama didn't take those old birth control pills like yours..." (there were 8 kids in her family and her mom was pregnant again).

International Talk Like a Pirate Day (http://www.talklikeapirate.com/)

They call it international because, as per the story on the site, after Dave Barry published their idea in his column, countries all over the world were calling them for interviews.

The kids love it and I put the whole day's lesson's and work in my portfolio. Got the reasure maps we made using what we learned in our mapping skills unit, Captain Slappy (our class mascot we made), the pirate problem solving word problems, our eyepatches, and the research and essays the kids wrote on pirates -- guys and gals -- from different countries. It was an awesome day.

Actually, I've only here for 40 minutes. On-and-off, though. I'm baking. :)

After thesis is done with on thursday, and the non-stop drinkfest that is Christmas/my brithday is over, I'm thinking of taking up a new language. Considering German since my friend speaks it. Not too sure, though.

How have you been, Joe? Up to anything new?
