A stupid thread and geeky as fuck but what the hell:D

So what are your all time faves?

Mine?

Indiana Jones & The Fate Of Atlantis

My first good computer game. Great plot, great puzzles and very playable. Introduced me to point'n'click adventure games. I LURVE a good point'n'click adventure game.

Monkey Island 2

Another Lucasarts point'n'click. I love the humor, it looked fantastic for its time and was the most playable and entertaining game i ever played. My absolute all time favourite.

Sam & Max Hit The Road

Yet Another great Lucasarts point'n'click. Looked amazing in its time. Funny, entertaining and very enjoyable. I played it on an old 386 which clearly didn't have the required power but i STILL loved it.

Doom

Oh my fucking God! What an experience! The Graphics, The Violence! I played it through with a friend and late at nights it was fucking scary! It kickstarted the whole FPS genre (Does anyone else remember when FPSs were called Shoot 'Em Ups?) although it was preceded by Wolfenstein. I recently downloaded the Shareware version to refresh the memories and it was still very enjoyable.

Geeky? What, you can't play games anymore or you're a geek? Fuck that.

VICE CITY
MONKEY ISLAND
GRIM FANDANGO

My top three, not necessarily in that order... funny thing about Grim... not a point n' click adventure game, but it may very well be the BEST adventure game ever written. Plot doesn't get any better than that... and Manny Calavera can easily go toe to toe with Guybrush Threepwood, as far as memorable characters go.

As for the rest... let's just say I have all LucasArts adventure games, the Leisure Suit Larrys, plus every game supported by ScummVM. By the way, if you have an itch to play those old adventures on your modern PC, head on to scummvm.org and see if this kewl little program supports it.

Aside from adventures...

Prince of Persia - all of them.
Baldur's Gate I & II
Icewind Dale
Neverwinter Nights

And I have my eyes set on Age of Conan - ageofconan.com - a massive multiplayer in development.

Cheers! :bottle:

You'll wait forever, then. Get your ass to telltalegames.com and buy the fucker. It's being released through electronic distribution only, with an option to receive a CD if you buy the whole season.

I already bought it... and I can tell you it KICKS ASS! It's perhaps a bit easy if you've played through most adventure games out there, but it couldn't be any more Sam & Max - they have Steve Purcell - the creator of this dynamicly dangerous duo - writing the dialogs.

Check it out, and lemme know.

Cheers! :bottle:

I only play arcade, pinball and board games nowadays because the ones requiring levels and a storyline take up too much of my time.

Had many times when I play, then I stop and 3 hours have passed! Could have spent that time better reading a book or watching softcore porn.

That's why I like driving games! Need for Speed being my favorite ... then Burnout!

RTCW 2 is probably going to have an insane hardware requirement.... *sigh*

They've had enough time to update their graphics.... all of their games look like shit.

Just get a whole shitload of classic arcade, pinball, casino and board games for the computer and you'll still have space. Hell after practicing on the board games, people will be stunned home much you kick their ass at em on the real board. And fucking go out to the local arcade or the retro arcade for that matter. Don't be stuck in the fuckin house all day, try some simulated drunk driving if there is a bar with a driving arcade game. Go out into the city or wherever and have some fun damnit! Hell, check out this place if any of y'all are headed to Vegas:

I'd recommend the pinball game "Attack from Mars", the one with the bitmap screen, it rules!
