      Plenty that I've enjoyed recently:

      Children Of Men

      The Departed

      Babel

      Dancer in the Dark (fucking weird)

      Happiness (black comedy)

      American Spledor (about the comic strip)

      L'Appartement

      Also if you just want good "popcorn" flcks, I quite enjoyed the new Rocky film....
