I just can not get into the cookie monster stuff...I would love to hear what a band like CC could do with a more traditional sounding singer.

I am not into it myself, but that commercial is one of the funniest I have seen in years.

The young guy is all frightened:

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty good clip.

For the most part I really like the music aspect of the heavy stuff...it is just the growl vocals throw me off.

I listen to Liquid Metal on sat. for a few songs once and awhile...some wicked bands out there.

I prefer actual vocalists.

Halford has been my fave singer of all time since I first heard Priest in 1979.

Well, Nevermore maybe a band that you could get into - really heavy music with proper vocals (although nowhere near Halford's vocals!)

I recommend "The Godless Endeavour" as a place to start....

Haha I just found out who that band is.

I had Headbangers Ball on....and this band comes on that sounds VERY familiar, even though they are playing a different song....sure enough...

it is SUFFOCATION.

Good guitar work, but the vocals have no unique qualities...I can think of a hundred bands that sound just like that.

Pathetic....

Cookie-Monster vocal bands are like rappers....you do not need to sing, or even have any musical abilities whatsoever...

But then when did that stop Poison from trying to make it big????
