I just heard the new Ozzy Single on the radio on my way to work today.
It's kinda cool... better than anything from Ozzmosis or anything else he's done in the last 16 years since 'No More Tears". It's more geared towards the earlier stuff.... but kinda poppy... I dunno... It wasn't embaressing... which is great for Ozzy these days.

Anyone else?

I can't seem to find a site that's got it, otherwise I'd provide a link...

Found it. It's called "I don't wanna stop"

I REALLY dig that, sounds like No Rest For the Wicked-era to me!!

The music is cool, but I have to say that it goes downhill when Ozzy's over-processed voice kicks in. Seems like he should stop, his voice is gone and he clearly struggles to write decent chorus' these days.

Having said that, I banged my head through that. Easily better than anything on the last two studio records....

If that were the case, Brian Johnson should have quit after Back in Black.

Not enough distortion, over-processed vocals, pinched harmonics, or stupid lyrics.

Give it up.

I love how it's called "I don't want to stop", yet he should have done exactly that a long time ago.

Not really, no. It's possibly a indication that he might put out a solid, if unspectacular, record rather than the crap records he's put out recently.

Of course it's not going to be anything like the early 80s, but I don't think anyones expecting that.

Ok, my bad.

Only saying that the "studio magic" is so audible on that Ozzy tune that it's almost laughable.

I love Ozzy, but his voice is in bad, bad shape...

This pretty much sums it up, yeah... it'd be a pretty decent music for anyone else, but Ozzy completely ruined it.

And the chorus is highly laughable.

Cheers! :bottle:

Really?

With the exceptions of Perry Mason and I Just Want You, I though Ozzmosis was the worst Ozzy record by far, whole thing just sounded odd to me....

I also like See You On The Other Side.

The worst Ozzy album was the last one--Down to Earth.

PURE SHIT.

As far as this new song goes, bleh.

The music is pretty good and its got a good start until Ozzy completely ruins it with stupid lyrics and that god awful chorus.

Thank god for 'Heaven and Hell'.

Ronnie > Ozzy, every day, always has, always will.

Ozzy (solo) from 1980 to 1991 was awesome.

Great stuff.

But even as good as No More Tears was, even that album, you can hear the crappola that was coming from Oz for future releases. The voice was getting annoying -- sounding more like a bad imitation of the great Ozzy of yesterday, if anything.

First time I heard it, the Dimebag'esqe guitar riff had the hair on my arms at attention. Second time I heard it, I said, "Wow, that's cheesy as fuck"....and that's where I am with the song.

It's just too damn cheesy for me.

Ive listened to it once and was more positive than most
of you guys. Sounded heaps better than anything from
Down to Earth, and its made me want to hear the whole
album.

Even if we only get 4 songs that are great, its worth it.
However..
I would much rather hear a new Black Sabbath album
with Ozzy, than more Zakk attacks...

No more Tears was the last good album, No Rest, was the
last great one.. All the others have been crap. I really hope
this one changes that.

That's exactly where I stand with it 'Mark, with the excpetion that I don't think a new Sabbath record is a good idea whilst Ozzy's voice is this shot....

I am the only one here, who still likes Ozzy's voice??

Dave's voice has been shot for 15 years and we still buy his albums...

No you are not the only one, a lot of old schoolers (including myself)
prefer the more analog type production techniques of the 70's/80's
and have trouble accepting the more digitally processed approach
of recording these days. Hate to say it, buts its here and I guess
we have to accept it. Yes, Ozzy's voice does sound more processed,
but fuck, its still obviously Ozzy and I love the fact he is still trying.

I saw him live a few years back and was anticipating shot
vocals. He sounded great that night. Didnt move around
as much as he used to, but all things taken into consideration,
his voice was great. Im glad I got to see him as I dont think
he will ever tour in Austalia again.

I like it. It's all subjective. I'm not comparing it to anything he's done before. No one can keep the bar raised to the top forever. It is what it is, I'll think it's pretty good. Granted I only listened to it once, so I can't say I'll like it 3 or 4 listens, but inititially it's good.

I like the track.
The chorus is corny.
Zakk sounds great! The solo shreds & the rhythm changes are nice.

Ozzy's voice doesn't bother me, but I don't know if I can take a whole albums worth of it in one sitting.

I hope there's some less 'hook' heavy songs on this album.

More CRUNCH dammit!

Well, there's a good build-up, but the lyrics are pure cheese...the chorus is total crap...Ozzy's Pro Tools voice is so digitized it sounds virtually fake...I've listened to it a few times, but it just doesn't jive with me at all, not on any level.

After the 3rd listen, the whole thing was forgettable. I mean, I suppose it's better to listen to than Down to Earth, but not by any large margin...just...forgettable.

I'll download it for free - maybe - but I sure as hell won't pay for it.

I would be much more optimistic if this were track #5 or 6 on the album. Putting it right up there at #2, I dunno...

Yeah, I really really don't want to hear his new cheese ballad you know is going to be on it.

binnie

There's no doubt that there will be a shit ballad on there, no doubt at all.

But if we get eight other rockers of this callibre then that's good enough for me: I wasn't expecting Diary of a Madman....

bueno bob

Honestly, though, it COULD have been Diary of a Madman, but with all the Pro Tool digitization, I still would dislike it...

I mean, fuck, if you can't sing - DON'T.
