but to be honest......i figured if joni mitchell can play by herself with just an acoustic guitar in from of half of a million people, why can't i play metal alone?

there is very little in rock and roll that has not been done.

no one else is doing it, and it slaps conventionalism in the face.the notion that there has to also be bass and drums,and also the one that it has to be spot on perfect is what i am challenging.

i am not perfect, no one is,including musicians. there used to be a time when it was cool to let the human factor show. it was more honest.
well,this is why i leave my mistakes in. to me it is a beautiful thing. besides.....some of the greatest ideas and songs came into being because of a mistake someone made. i thought of all places, the roth army would understand that. cvh was great because they screwed up.
same with led zeppelin or jimi hendrix or the who.

need i remind everyone that as much as i know a good number of us here think the us fest show is one of the greatest shining moments in cvh history..........it was also sloppy as fuck and full of mistakes. and that is the exact reason it is such a classic. it was honest.

just ask tony iommi. a good number of his greatest riffs were the result of musical mistakes.

i could go on but i won't. you either get it or you don't.

yeah......nobody has had the balls to go out and do it. where as i have been doing this thing for the last 5 years. i tried having a full band and it was a disaster. things did not start working for me in any way until i went out and started performing concerts alone.

that is how i made a name for myself. i have a nice following in some places, and in others i am still working on it.
after dumping the rest of the band and going it alone,i recorded cd #1,
which i chose not to release,but it got me my record deal literally 1 month after a recorded it. the link on this page is for cd #2.
this one i will release. when i played it for the heads of my label,it took
them a while to pick their jaws up off of the floor.
at some point on tour this year.....i am having some of the shows filmed for an in concert dvd.
not bad for sticking to my guns.
independant labels give you much more freedom,mine pretty much lets me do whatever the fuck i want.i have it in my contract that i have complete creative control,as well as when the contract expires this november,i get all my masters back.......then they have to turn around and lease them from me.
i do the lions share of the work, so why shouldn't i get the lions share of the rewards from the fruits of my labors?
and i am in a horror movie called "carnies".
i have been writing music reviews for toxicshock.tv for the last couple of years.
patience and persistance. that is the key. slow and steady.
that is the key to longevity. that way you don't burn out too quickly.
that is the secret to my success.
so i am not a huge star.
i don't give a fuck. i'm happy. i am doing for a living what i always wanted,and that is make music,record and perform concerts.
i stuck to my guns,and i will continue to do so.
it is what has worked out best for me. so if it ain't broke......

back when i was in cover bands,my goal was to eventually do my own thing,make my music my way.
to perform the kind of show i would want to go see.
my mind set was that being in a cover band is a trap that most people never escape. a viscious cycle that is tough to break.

my mind set was and still is that whether i succeed or fall flat on my face,
i was determined to do it on my own terms,with my own music and stage show.

and apparently, i have not exactly fallem on my face yet. after 5 years,
i am still up and running.

so i am proof positive it can be done.

even though i take a ton of shit for it,i still do go out and perform alone.

i am not afraid to walk alone.

i have been alone all my life,and my mantra.....the philosophy i live by
is simple.
"I BELIEVE IN ME"
