Committee backs death if child raped

A person convicted of the aggravated rape of a child could be sentenced to death under legislation that unanimously passed the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.

The measure sponsored by Sen. Doug Jackson, D-Dickson, would increase the sentence for raping a child from a maximum of 60 years to "imprisonment for life or imprisonment for life without possibility of parole."

A person convicted of aggravated rape of a child could be sentenced to death.

The additional costs of capital trials and appeals would exceed $750,000 for each case, and the cost of executing each inmate would be more than $15,000, according to the bill's fiscal summary.

Best thing that could happen to a pedophile is that they get thrown in the general population of a prison. The convicts will take care of the rest. Think some guy who's already serving a life sentence is gonna give a shit if he gets a "longer" sentence for killing a baby raper??

ford, heres something we agree on at last.

when i was a young lad i went thru the illinois doc i spent 7 years in the worst prisons the usa has to offer, i was convicted for drug possession when i was 17, i was a dumbass i know.

anyways back in those days the people who committed sex crimes of any nature were ostrisized my the rest of the cons and pretty much had to be kept in pc, protective custody, thats where they are locked up 23 hours a day.
once in awhile guys would come in there and say they didnt want pc so the administators would let them in general population.

people would find out they were pedophiles or rapists and it wouldnt be long before the peds would either be beaten down and sexually assaulted and in some cases they would kill them.
thats no joke or story they would litterally cut thier skin off these guys, i heard a story in there where 2 peds were killed in a cooridor and they were stabbed over 500 times.

nowdays you even say anything to a baby raper in the joint and you will go to the hole.

if i had kids and anyone ever did anything to them i would never call the cops, they would wake up at night with me standing over thier bed and that would be all she wrote for him.

You're exactly right. My kids are "grown" now, but if some fucking pervert even LOOKED at my kids I wouldn't wait on the law to coddle their ass. I'd be doing some time....

Thomas L. Seklovich heads for a local bar to celebrate his acquittal shortly after leaving the Spayd County Courthouse Monday. - If it's hot enough to fry an egg, it's hot enough to get away with murder. Jury agrees homicide of 70-year-old man is justified.

Two years and five days after he was arrested for the decapitation of an elderly man, Thomas L. Seklovich was again a free man.
"Ha! ha! ho! heeee!," Seklovich, 29, chittered as he walked out of Spayd County Courthouse. "I'm gonna go get me a beer and a hummer!"

Not far from the acquitted man's jubilation stood a dejected Elmer P. Holdsclaw Jr., son of the decapitated Elmer P. Holdsclaw Sr.

"What's wrong with this country?" Holdsclaw Jr. said. "He admitted on live television to sawing my dad's head off and now he's walking out of here free as a bird?"

Seklovich's attorney, Lawrence Mathers III, readily admitted his client mercilessly tore the head off of a 70-year-old man. But Mathers' strategy wasn't to deny the charges - he claimed the homicide was justifiable.


"There was never any doubt Thomas killed the old bugger," Mathers said, "what we set out to prove, quite successfully, was the old man had it coming. Sort of the old-school Texas 'He Needed Killing' Defense."

During the two-week trial details of the horrid crime were presented before the jury. Including what Mathers' called the turning point in the testimony, where Seklovich recanted the days leading up to the murder.

Seklovich told the jury how he would walk past Holdsclaw's home every morning. He told them how Holdsclaw would torment him.

"It was over 90 degrees for a week and every day that old bastard would grin his toothless grin at me and say, 'Hot enough for ya?'" Seklovich testified. "How is a man supposed to just bear that kind of snide elderly-man torture every day?'

He went on to detail the events of the eighth day of being asked "Hot enough for ya?': "I was walking to my car, he lived two doors down from me, when he opened that geriatric mouth of his and asked it again...
"I just couldn't take it, it was about 100 that day and there he was on his porch in the same shirt he always wore sneering at me...

"I walked up to him and said, "Too fucking hot old man, too fucking hot." I then hit him in the head with the oscillating fan he had, knocking him out cold...

"I ran home and grabbed my hunting knife and returned to find the old bastard trying to get to his feet. I told him he wouldn't bother anyone anymore and that's when I did it."


Seklovich then spent about 45 minutes methodically sawing through Holdsclaw's neck.

"I would've been done in a half hour, but it was too damn hot and I needed to take a break for some lemonade," Sekovich said. "That old guy's neck was tougher than you would've thought.".

The only witness to the crime was Dewey Stackhouse, who was in the neighborhood collecting used clothing for First African Methodist Episcopal Church.

"I didn't know what was happening," Stackhouse said. "I just figured they were crazy white people."

Last month Stackhouse was sentenced to five to seven years in state prison for failing to provide assistance to someone in distress.
