Celebrities should shut up about politics. Unless they're Republicans. So which right wing celebrity should run with Fred to electoral oblivion??

I don't know enough about Thompson to start speculating on a possible running mate for him. Found this if anyone is interested.

Fred Thompson was politician and a lawyer long before he was an actor, so just keep telling yourself he is a joke ford.

The joke isn't Thompson himself as much as it is the Republican hypocrisy when it comes to celebrities being involved with politics.

Fred may have prior experience. But Herr Gropenator didn't. Nor did Jellybean Brain before he was governor of your state. And then there's Sonny Bono, Gopher, Cooter, etc.

I like the way the dude thinks and the bills he proposed during his time in the senate as a starter. His views on smaller government and fiscal policy are welcome given the out of control budgets we have at the present time.

It's really not about their involvement but more like how moronic some of their remarks are concerning political issues. Take Sheyl Crows tp advice, for example.

Others like Clooney are actually getting involved. But when you have Spicolli paddling around a flooded New Orleans or dune buggin around in Iraq, you tend to think these morons should stick to what they know best. Of course, they're entitled to their opinions. It just makes them a better target when they do something stupid.
