here's a much better recording of I Don't Wanna Stop from the same VH1 show...

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BHwa2mNW-8k"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BHwa2mNW-8k" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

People who have no idea what they are doing should be banned from loading YouTube videos...

Nah, I take that back, we might miss out on some cool stuff if that were the case...

Crazy Train 2007 sounded better than I expected :)

That VH1 stuff is from this past weekend...

Not bad at all.

The bands sounds great.

Ozzy struggles a little on the older stuff, and clearly finds I Don't Wanna Stop, which is largely spoken rather than sung, easy to perform.

Having said that, his voice isn't as bad as a lot of people make out.

I really enjoyed those vids.

I’m sorry to break it to U guy’s but that’s (apart from ozzy cheering and talking) not one bit Live!!

It’s so pre-recorded.

If you play both versions of Carzy Train simultaneously and sync them you here that throughout its exactly the same every note, every bend, exactly the same. It begins and ends on the mil. Sec. The only difference between them is Ozzy´s communication with the crowd.

ELVIS

The guitar is totally different...

The drums are different...

And the vocals are different...

I'm aware that Ozzy has done exactly what you're saying many times in the past, but he's not doing it here...

I played them both at the same time, swapped the sound back and fourth, and the only thing I could tell differed, was the delay on the vocal track. But I will take a closer listen, I’m at work and not totally focused so you could be right.

The guitar Intro differs its longer on the VH1 clip (I missed that the first time cause I was trying to sync them), but from the main riff forward its actually the same, or at least sound 100% identical. If you play them both and switch the sound between them, the licks, the solo, the end, Ozzy's vocal where it's slightly off how long he holds each note the effect of his voice fading as he gets off the mike.

Either its pre recorded or they have perfected it to be able to play it the same way night after night

Ozzy was totally doing a voice over track.

click click click click click click click click was definitely in at least the drummer's ear monitors. They probably had an autotuner on him too.

I know Elvis didn't make the youtube vid, but whoever did probably never heard of a fuckin TV tuner card, DVD burner, Tivo or even a damn VCR. Note to everyone, don't use your fuckin camcorder to record TV shows.

I don't know about Crazy Train but 'I don't want to stop' is DEFINITELY a tape. I wasn't sure at first until I played it side by side with a 'performance' of it on UK TV last weekend.

Initially I thought it was maybe just Ozzy miming but the whole band is. The must have recorded separate versions for their 'live' versions of the songs.

You can actually run the two in separate windows and they are exactly in time, every bended note, everything is identical.

I hope they have a Milli Vanilli moment at OzzFest!!!

This fucking scam is obviously how Sharon pursuaded him to go back out on the road.

Cheers!

Ok, I'm not a musician and there's something I don't understand.

Let's say Ozzy is lip-synching - why would the rest of the band not be playing live?

Is it not possible to just have a tape of his voice play over the top of the music?

I think I'm mis-understanding something...

I think in the past Ozzy has done this. To do that you obviously have to have the band playing at exactly at the same speed as the tape of his voice so the drummer has to play along to a click track.

In this case though the band aren't live either.

Thnaks Sesh, I understand now.

Fucker better not do that at Wembley Arena on June 19th!

Actually, I probably wouldn't notice, as I thought that was live.......

The thing that Sharon hasn't thought of is the internet.

Now everyone can see/hear everything.

We'll soon know if they are using the tapes for the whole tour and if they do what's left of Ozzy's credibility will be dead.

That is the sad truth of it.

I've defended him this far, but using tapes will be the final straw...

It's quite easy, if Ozzy sings in tune then it's a tape...:)

binnie

Ok, but I don't think that there's much danger of a "tune" happening...

Who's his bassist?

Red White
06-01-2007, 08:31 PM
While watching the show live(first airing) Ozzy was over by the Drum Riser and one of his trademark Yeahs came over the air then he quickly headed towards his mic..?

They play live then the engineers dubb Ozzys voice over from a cd.

Some 5 sec delay, Tom Foolery.

I'm suspecting.

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion after I paid more attention...

That kinda bums me out...

I don't think he's gonna do that on the tour, but it still sucks...

I think he's capable of doing just as good live...

My brother says they record the audio live during sound check or have a pre-show with an audience for these TV performances, I dunno...

Trujillo played with Suicidal Tendencies in the late 80's & early 90's.
He also played bass in another Mike Muir fronted band, Infectious Grooves.
Both bands have put out some amazing albums.

Check out the Infectious Grooves album 'The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move...'
Rob tears it the fuck up on that album...

He also played on what was arguably Suicidal's best album 'Lights...Camera...Revolution'.

He was with BLS in 2002.

I don't know how much he was paid to desecrate the 1st two Ozzy albums, but I hope it was a lot. That's a pretty disgusting sell-out right there, so I hope he at least got some major coin out of it.

Ozzy was singing LIVE in Hultsfred but his voice cracked: He struggled pretty bad already in the second number: Mr Crowley. He explained that he was on stage even though his doctor advised him not to, he was pretty humble about it kneeled and said: I’m sorry for my voice.

It was funny to watch him though, he was in good spirit talking to the crowd squirting water on everybody that got in his way and he seemed to enjoy himself. The sound was good and the band sounded tight.

im a vocalist and have been an ozzy fan for over twenty years....trust me he isnt singing live ,the band is playing live to a click track with ozzys vocals pre-recorded on the click track

saint
06-19-2007, 11:13 AM
Well the pre-recorded vocals must have been left on the plane, or he pre recorded a real shitty version to make it more credible, because his singing at the Hultsfred festival was really bad...

singerman
06-20-2007, 08:39 PM
All his recent TV appearences, he has been miming ,i guess people dont notice his out of key voice as much at a live concert cos everything is so loud, but playing live on TV, it would stick out like a dogs dick so they pre-recorded them....just listen to the sound of his voice when he tries to get the audience going before he starts singing, its muffled, then he starts to sing and the mix is perfect and clear

Saw Ozzy live on Tuesday at Wembley and it was fucking incredbile.

Nine years since I last saw him, and he was definately singing live (mostly) as he was hitting all the wrong notes in all the wrong places! He struggled on War Pigs, with the high note at the end of each line, and thats where you could hear something pre-recordede coming through at the same time as what he was actually singing live.

But mostly the show was really him, no question in my mind.

He only played two songs from Black Rain "I'm not going away" and one of the shit ballads (only dull part of the night). Is the fact that he didn't even play his current single perhaps an indication that he has not faith in his current record? Anyway there was the typical Ozzy agic in the air, even if he can't sing like he used to (which was never that great lets be honest) - he's still an amazing frontman, and seemed overwhelmed to be there.

It was so good that I even enjoyed "Road to Nowehere" .....lol...
