I dont know if they were mistakes or not...More likely it was improvisational and I thought the lead was pretty cool. I think IF and when I get to be THAT smooth with my playing, Im sure I'll add shit or take shit away when trying to emulate a VH song. I love the squeels this guy did. First one at :57 I believe.

I think that's the ONLY thing I dont like about the Atomic Punks is that they play it like it was written. No going outsides the lines ya know? Too mundane.

The verse chordings were definitely off.

Lead was played well enough; the guy got all of the melodic parts of the solo okay.

Tone was a bit thin and too overdriven, though. Little more bass and a little less gain would have helped.

Satriani and Vai both have overprocessed, overdriven tones with WAY too much high end EQ.

EVH, at least back in the day, understood how to dial up a full sound, tone-rich, if you will. Call it "the Brown Sound" or "girl friendly"...whatever. He had it going on. Heavy gain, but not over distorted.

and yes I left a response. Im sticking to it. The camera angle, the playing, the "squeels", the improv. I thought it was great.

Not every cvh song has to be played with the same "brown sound" Ed made popular.
