Hey Canadians, How legit is the CBC?

The CBC used to be a very reliable, unbiased network. It is government operated, much like the BBC though, so I'm not sure if it has sufferred under the reign of Little Stevie Wonderbush, the way PBS and NPR have under the Chimpministration.

If they're still airing TV shows like this, then I would have to say they are still capable of journalism.

That show is actually fairly old now. The CBC is extremely reputable. I know I'm a little biased, but I consider their investigative journalists some of the best in the world.

No, FORD, little Stevie hasn't affected the CBC much. Although admittedly some were concerned that it might. Being a minority govt, Stevie doesn't have the same type of control that GW has...

The CBC is absolutely reputable. I miss their news actually, since all Canadian stations were on local Buffalo cable.

I also miss Hockey Night in Canada...

It's always fun to compare the CNN and Fox version of the story to the CBC's....

At least you know whose giving you the "non-manipulated" version of the truth. :D

Absolutely! I loved the dryer takes on the news offered, without all of the bullshit designed to appeal to short attention span, shallow "news consumers" that CNN and FAUX do.

And of course those Saudi despots have been up pResident Bouche's ass. But hey, they're OUR tyrants, and 'freedom is on the march' --right past them...

The CBC is good but you need to keep in mind that it does lean heavily to the left when it comes to politics.
Some of their newscasts absolutly infuriate me...people that rely only on the CBC for their national news generally are poorly informed.
For international news they really seem to do a great job...their documentary's are great,

They where busted a few times last year for editing newsclips that made Harper look bad...they completly outright lied...the ombudsmon had to issue an apology.

The best political news chanel we have is CPAC.
You can watch actual House Of Commons and Question period...see what the PM and MPs actually say.
Watch CBC afterwards and and you would realize why they may fear Harper...how they get away with some of the stuff they do amazes me.

Have to agree with you on that one. I generally catch Canada AM for national, but I pretty much stick to CBC for international... You simply cannot beat the CBC for documentaries though.
