That looks worthwhile, if it's a reasonable price I'll probably get it.

The first two discs look particuarly interesting....

Hmmm so I thought this was supposed to cover the period from 1978 to 1992. Surely there must have been a concert or two they could include from 1978 or 1979...

unfortunatley it doesnt have the pro shot Animalize concert from Cobo..this came out on VHS back in the day and was a regular on the MTV concert shows

I got the Animalize show on dvd from Brazil. Great quality. I know it all by heart from the old MTV concert shows they showed like you mentioned.

Looks to be a good set. Surely there is more Creatures tour than the 8 songs. The set was longer than that!

Would have thought that show would have been a given, too.

But it does have enough pre-Lick It Up stuff in it to retain my interest. Was hoping for it to have both a 1979 show and maybe even Kiss Meets The Phantom Of The Park, but as it does have the 1980 Down Under footage and the 1983 Brazil footage, I'll probably get it long as the price is around $30, despite the fact that outside of Brazil not much on disc 3 interests me.

Perhaps the 1979 live stuff will still be put on disc one, as there is additional footage pending.

Actually I heard it will have Phantom of the Park on there. Except it isn't the NBC aired version we all saw.

Included is the European "theatrical" version called "KISS in ATTACK OF THE PHANTOMS."

Apparently its the same movie, but with some edits and different scenes.

Some info on the difference between the 1978 original US version and the European 1979 version, re-ttitled "KISS in ATTACK OF THE PHANTOMS":

In 1979, Avco-Embassy released Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park in theaters outside the United States, with translations of the title Attack of the Phantoms. In some countries — Italy, in particular — the film was simply titled Phantoms. The theatrical release featured a vastly different version of the film, with several scenes that did not appear in the original television airing added to the cut. In 1980, Attack of the Phantoms was shown at an Australian drive-in as part of a double-feature, alongside Alice Cooper's Welcome to My Nightmare.

The overseas film's overall soundtrack also differed from the original — much of the Hanna-Barbera fight music was replaced by music from the band's own catalog, primarily from their four solo albums. In some edits, the promotional videos for "I Was Made For Lovin' You" and "Sure Know Something" were also edited into the film.

I'm interested in seeing some "Creatures of the night" & Vinnie Vincent footage.
Kissology volume 1 was incredible & i got it here in Boston for a mere 15.99 at Newbury Comics!
There's enough stuff i'd like to see to get Volume 2.
I lost interest after 'Creatures', though.
It pisses me off that VH & WB just sit on all the archive stuff they have & give the fans jack. How insanely selfish & stupid to let this material never see the light of day.
Gene Simmons may be all about the mighty dollar, but at least he gives the longtime fans what they want & then some.
VH business sense is just so poor.

Just popped up on Kiss' website today.

One of the more intriguing features in the set is "Kiss in Attack of the Phantoms" on disc one, the previously unseen European theatrical version of the 1978 cult classic film known in the U.S. as "Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park."

So it will be included. Nice

I have 'Attack of The Phantoms' on DVD. The soundtrack sucks & at times the Kiss songs that they use don't match the 'mood' that is supposed to be created. It is awful.

It sux as bad as the US version.

I'm sure Gene-O will have Tommy 'Scab-boy' alter it to make it a little less embarrassing, but there's no polishing that turd.

Unfortunately, there will only be an EXCERPT of the interview on the DVD set.

Which fucking sucks.

But you can get boots of it and watch the whole thing on youtube. :)

Would still be good to include, even if it is the European Theatrical release, which I've never seen but from what I've read about that alternate cut, the differences are so few it doesn't sound like it matters much.

As long as they include the 1980 and 1983 live footage, I'm gonna end up getting it. Any 1979 live footage and any version of the 1978 tv movie would be a bonus.

Supposedly some footage was left out because most of the material has been covered in the shows included.

Makes sense but as far as I am concerned include all the shows and let us choose which one we want to watch...

Agreed. Most are gonna want this stuff for the makeup-era footage anyway. Even the band must know this, because the cover is virtually the same as the first one, with Gene, Paul and Ace in the same makeup and poses, only subbing Criss with Eric Carr in the fox makeup.
