(Jorma Kaukonen, Jack Casady)
Well, nickel is a nickel, I said, dime is a dime
I need a new gal, she won't mind
Tell me how long do I have to wait?
Can I get you now, I said, must I hesitate?
The eagle on the dollar says "in God we trust"
You say you want a man
You wanna see that dollar first
Tell me how long do I have to wait?
Can I get you now, I said, must I hesitate?
Well, If the river was whiskey, said, I was a duck
You know I'd swim to the bottom
Lord, and never come up
Tell me how long
Well, rocks in the ocean, said, fish in the sea
Knows you mean the world to me
Tell me how long do I have to wait?
Can I get you now, Lord, must I hesitate?
Well, the hesitation stalker's got them hesitation shoes
You know, Lord, I got them hesitation blues
Tell me how long do I have to wait?
Can I get you now, Lord, must I hesitate?
Said, can I get you now, how long must I hesitate?

Maybe 500 times a stoned group of -High- school kids bursting into this on the corner, at a party, standin on a dime, up ina tree.

You ever seen 10 high school kids in completely BLOWN OUT Denim, patched and deyed with concert patches sewn on . smokin weed in a tree singin, Hesitation Blues.
You aint lived.lol
I also believe there was a additional 5000 verses.

This was a great tune for stoned free vagrant longhairs.

Thanks for the memories.

Jorma and Jack played a show I went to last year. Jack Casady has always been one of my favorite bass players so I wanted to talk with the guy. He said him and Jorma never quit touring since they joined The Jefferson Airplane in 1965! He laughed and said he quit college to join this band in San Fransisco becaus he loved playing bass and they paid $50/week whether they worked or not. LOL! He says he's never stopped!
