Southern Comfort Special Reserve spirit... Anyone had it? It sounds great, but I can't find it anywhere to buy. Can anyone find a link to buy it online, preferably UK/European site, or somewhere with int. shipping?

Thought I'd ask the booze experts we have here... :D

Shit I dunno.

No boozers over there carry the stuff?

I seriously doubt it.

Englanders pride themselves on being able to drink everyone under the table. Ya gotta be able to get it over there somewhere.

Unless you actually live in Outer Mongolia.
:D

I am a big fan of Crown Royal Special Reserve myself.

It kicks your ass, while you beg for more.

My brother-in-law and I do Crown Royal during the holidays. I haven't had Southern Comfort in ages, but the last time I did, it was some of the last 100 proof you could get your hands on at the time. Not sure if they make it anymore. It'll put a knot in your ass, you betchum. Drink it neat - no ice. :killer:

SC 100 proof has been on duty here all night, baby. Come over and have a shot when you're 21. Maybe Wolfgang will be throwing down his own damage on stage by then and you can see that over here too.:wow:

No Special Reserve tonight, but that's alright.

I'll check with some of the reps I know and see what I can find out. I've yet to hear of it though?

Then again, Southern Comfort's not a big seller nor popular spirit in my neck of the woods. So, a "Special Reserve" wouldn't spark very much interest.

As I mentioned in my cooking thread, the latest deal that was forced my way was four cases of ABSOLUT NEW ORLEANS vodka. It's a limited edition 2007 batch. A mango pepper flavored vodka with the proceeds going to Katrina victims from ABSOLUT.

Again, I'll look into the Sothern Comfort though. :)

That's exactly what I thought when my liquor order came in and we received an email from corporate that the shit was to be used for the final quarter of this year.

Anyway and of course I tried it. I must say, it's not a concoction that I'd ever dream up but it wasn't bad either. For a martini or straight, it has a sweet flavor with an extremely spicy finish. Again, not bad and works rather well in Bloody Mary's.

Again though, I'll keep a bottle or two in my home bar for a novelty item but I'd never purchase a bottle.

Half of thse friggin' flavored vodkas that are in vogue nowadays are like WTF?

I mean some are good for mixers but this shit over the last few years has gone koo koo. Hence, Stoli Blueberry, Absolut Pear, Grey Goose Strawberry, etc...

People constantly buy me flavored Absolut vodkas as presents and I hate them.

Actually I think even unflavored Absolut is pretty shitty.

Sesh, I really must agree with you and it's a part of my profession.

However and I must admit, I do like their ABSOLUT PEPPAR when I make Bloody Mary's.

I also think the current popularity of Grey Goose is extremely overrated as well.

I've always preferred Stoli as a vodka of choice.

Speaking of which, have you tried Stoli's new premium vodka, their Stoli "Elite?"

It's about $70 a fifth but it's by far the cleanest and best vodka I've ever tasted.

I'm also not much of a gin drinker. However, I don't mind a decent martini every once in a blue moon and I'll only drink Bombay Saphire. I don't care what people say but there truly is a difference and it's miles above any other gin. Saphire's the only gin I keep in my home bar as well.

I had a fifth of Stolichnaya and it didn't last long. Happiness is having a bottle of that stuff in the fridge.

Flavored vodka is for kindergarten kids.

That Stoli Elite bottle looks cool. I would spend $80 just for the bottle.

Saphire is better than Tanqueray? I stumbled onto Tanqueray and went holly shit, this stuff can't be improved!

Gordon's Gin is one of the best buys in the liquor store. It makes an ok martini but a fabulouse gin fizz with lemon and ginger ale.

Duuuuude!!!

You've never heard of Bombay Sapphire?

YES!!! A HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE DIFFERENCE OVER Tanqueray!!!

Again, I hate gin and actually enjoy a Sapphire Martini (Gin in it's most pristine form) from time to time. It's a shitload more expensive than other gins but what isn't when it comes to quality?

Also, the Stoli Elite bittle is cool lookin' as well. :)

I've known about Bombay Saphire for years. I just never tried it. Gin wan never my thing, but I guess I've discovered martinis now.

As a former whiskey drinker, I love that Woodford. However, this was my favorite...

I was 17 when the drinking age in D.C. (minutes away) was 18.

We would go to Georgetown to get our $10 fake I.D.'s and hit the bars on the strip. Good ole' days. Danced with many an international babe back then.
http://i1.tinypic.com/3yi5o3b.gif
Then they cranked it up to 21 just months before my 18th B-Day.
No matter. I.D.'s were still $10.:hitch:

I was living in Idaho at the time and the state was going to leave the drinking age at 18 until the Federal Govt. said they wouldn't give the state federal highway money. The state gave in.

I remember out politicians saying if we can expect people to be mature enough to go to war and fight for the country at 18, they should be able to have a drink. One of the biggest discraces ever! Look at 18 year olds now. A bunch of crying babies because society treats them as babies.
