Who here has it?

There's no way i can go back to standard tv. I love HDTV. Even my girlfriend. who knows nothing about technology, loves it.

You have to do it. Go HD now

Welcome aboard smokey.. There is no going back.. it would be like giving back the Corvett and driving a moped. And besides, 2009 is right around the corner.. and all those anolog sets will be obsolete. Everybody needs to get on board if they love TV.

I'll get one eventually, when the price drops further. But I'll still only go with a 2.1 Dolby Digital surround sound, I don't see a point in having more than 2 speakers and a subwoofer. I'm catching up with the times though, bought myself a cheap 512MB Sandisk mp3 player with some Koss headphones, cause the earbuds suck.

After you fill that up in about 5 seconds....

Get an iPod and a torrent website.

My parents just bought a Vizio big screen I dunno 50 inch I think, and they upgraded the cable and got HDTV on it. My kid goes over there to watch the Yankee games. He said you can see the beads of sweat off of their head. It's amazing.
Maybe if I am good Santa will bring me a big screen tv with hdtv. ;) :p :o :D

Yes HDTV is sweet.

Watching the Sask. Rough Riders have the best season in over 30 years is just that much sweeter to watch.

TSNHD is the shite!

I have a Sony 50'' plasma hanging above my firplace. Got it a couple years ago for 7k. It was the last plasma Sony made before switching over to LCD. I have Directv with an HD dvr a 5.1 Sony surround sound system and the NFL Sunday Ticket with the superfan upgrade. Directv is getting ready to add 75 more HD channels by the end of this month. Anyone who has seen the difference is completely amazed. You can have a HD tv without seeing an HD picture. You have to have a box and programming in order to get it. I would recomend it to anyone. You can now get a pioneer 60'' plasma for about $5500.

I love the Red Zone channel. If I am not watching a specific game, I'm tuned in to RZ.

I'm all rigged up Flat Screen all the media computer on the TV VGA cables Svid DVD VHS dual deck Tuner .I even have a lazer disk player .

Having trouble finding disks but it is the Sh!T.

Yet I still have not purchased TV card for my computer that will be next.

My only gripe about all this is "" MEDIA Mines Bigger Stuff"",LOL.My buddy bought a 80inch it may be 105 this tv is 7 ft almost from corner to corner Plazma
1080 dpi or whatever the friKK.

And he puts it in his basement /man cave with the bar &pinball machines.

His basement is z shaped and the room the tv is in is probably only 12 from the tv to the next wall.

Needless to say watching this gargando box is like sitting in the movie theater on the front row!

This tv would be better applied at a stadium.LOL

Boys and thier Toys..!

HD is the Bomb on football games.

That's what I was afraid of, so I was consciously avoiding seeing the difference knowing I was immediately going to want to buy two new TVs.
But I was over at my friend's place the other night and he's flipping back and forth between an analog and HD version of the same channel, going
"No, dude --- I'm going to RUIN you!"
It really is that drastic a difference, though...and I'll be damned if I don't want a new TV or 2...like NOW....

Yes...with the proper equipment there is a drastic difference.

If someone tells ya they can not hear or see the difference they are either cheap, blind or deaf.

Or all of the above. I imagine it similar to needing glasses and not knowing it until you put a pair on....y'know?
It was like "OK, now regular TV looks blurry and crappy".

having 5.1 or 7.1 is what makes the experience of watching a movie on a bigscreen hdtv enjoyable, you are missing a large part.

its pretty cool watching nascar races in 7.1 on a hd broadcast you can watch a car go round the track and the speaker positions change as the cars pass diiferent places on the track.

theres nothing like watching a movie and feeling car crashes or gunshots, bombs blowing up.

not to mention watching music DVDs, if you have seen how the west was won by zepplin, you should hear it a eardrum crushing levels in 7.1, it would blow your mind. complete different sound than in 2.1 or 3.1.

AC/DCs family jewels also kicks ass, i love cranking that dvd.

Yeah...Once I subbed to HD I started to really notice some of the non HD channels had alot poorer quality than other ones...something I had not really picked up on previously....and I had watched them for years.

its not that expensive, buy off manufacterers sites on ebay, you can get last years models at fractions of the cost, for instance i got a harman kardon avr reciever that retailed for 2100.00 for 530 dollars shipped, all warranties everything.
i got all my speakers cheap, i got a pair of jbl mains that retailed for 1000.00 for 114 dollars shipped.
no shit.
