Just watching it now, and I gotta tell ya, for a 'football' movie, I really like it.

It's more about football, it's about bringing back the moral and feel good vibe of lost souls.

Matthew what's his name (I can't spell it) is REAL good in this.

Yes, yes... FOOTBALL... but that marching band movie is about football too!

Besides, aren't "marshalls" the people that march/play in the marching band?

This movie is about a football team that gets wiped out in a airplane crash. It's a college football team. The people who are left behind rally together and get another team up and in honor of their dead brethren.

And yah....I said 'Football.' ;)

Only about a month before the Marshall plane crash, a charter plane carrying the Wichita State Shockers football team crashed in Colorado, on their way to a game in Utah.

It was in October, 1970. 31 people died in the crash.

Really messed with my head, as I was 10 at the time, and there was a girl in my 5th-grade class whose dad was the coach of the team, and his wife (her mom) had gone along on the flight, and both died.

Never saw her again.

Funny how Marshall gets a movie made about them, but WSU is ignored.

Here is a website about the memorial on the WSU campus:
