As far as Entombed go, check out "Left Hand Path" for vintage, old-shcool Death Metal. For the record where they really came into their own, and developed their own sound, check out "Wolverine Blues". Also, check out "To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth" - not too sure if yu'll like that one as it's sort of garageesque in production, but if you let it grow on you, you will see that it is one of the best HEAVY albums ever made.

Other bands to check out: The Haunted. More thrash than Death, but I reckon you'll dig 'em anyway. Check out any album pre-2005 as the last couple have been a bit ropey..

Also, check out At The Gates. Those guys were fucking incredible....

Check out Death Breath. Nicke Andersson aka Nick Royale's new band. He's the former drummer in Entombed, and as you maybe know he's the singer and guitarist in Hellacopters.

The band is a death metal-band with a sense of humour:

Although I'll admit, I'm not the biggest DM head out there, I do get a kick out of the novelty of some of the tunes, & it does assist the task of occasionally taxing the vacuum tubes in my McIntosh.

Finnish death tends to use a lot of keyboards.... Göteborg/Sweden death uses a lot of twin guitars, softer passages (like Opeth), and Florida death metal is often about Satan/gore and is very fast and straightforward

No, I'm not really a fan, I find Death Metal hard work these days (getting 'old'!) A lot of DM guys I know LOVE Nile though.....

I think Opeth’s Anti (Bush administration) American comments are rather consistent with most European’s opinions. I’m sorry to say but Bush JR is quite a laughing stock on this side of the pond. And to make such comments to that crowd, in the middle of redneck land, is in my book quite gutsy. On the other hand I don’t get why they would make those comments, they are there to entertain their audience not insult them, after all they are musicians not politicians.
